Also I would like to prefer an eco-friendly lifestyle by using our products.     Great Companies: How did the idea of Aarogyahaar come into being? Rajan Mahendra: When I was a 34-year-old, I was diagnosed with a transient ischemic attack (a quasi stroke). The incident not only grounded me for the next six months but also put me on a host of medications for the next 10 years. While I was on the road to recovery, I set up up MyHealth Pharmacy, a pharmacy chain in Hyderabad. It was at around this time that I developed arthritis as a side effect of the heavy medications I was on. The onset of arthritis made me realize that medicines were causing me more harm than good. This motivated me to leave the pharmacy chain and get out of the medicine business completely. I started reading about food and the immense power it has to reverse almost any disease. By the time I was 44, I had healed myself completely, without any medication, and wanted to spread my new-found knowledge with the world to heal people. This was when Aarogyahaar was born. Great Companies: What made you move ahead even when there are so many other competitors? Rajan Mahendra: We work with a fundamental understanding of bio-chemistry, physiology, pathology, psychology, medicine, nutrition and diagnostics. This is a unique combination of root cause solutions to reverse disease. Our mission has been to educate people about the harmful effects of overuse of medications and how they lead to further complications. There might be competitors, but none of them come close to our understanding of the domain of disease reversal  and motivation / emotional engagement with clients on a weekly basis. Moreover, the sheer opportunity size is such that the problem needs multiple players to work on this issue. (88% of population are metabolically unhealthy).  Great Companies:  Do you have sales of medicines and products? Rajan Mahendra: Our primary source of revenue is through our 6-month therapeutic nutrition consulting package. We offer it to our clients and work with them on a weekly basis to ensure that their medicines come down over a period of 6 months and also get their clinical parameters back into the normal range. We have worked with more than 15,000 clients who have achieved significant results across almost 75 different types of diseases including 15 types of cancers. We do not sell anything to the clients. Great Companies:  What are your criteria to choose your staff? Rajan Mahendra: We prefer to recruit nutritionists who have just passed out of college and train them. These are all M. Sc nutrition post-graduate students. One criterion we make sure to select them on is their dedication towards creating a healthier tomorrow. It is important they understand the importance of the work they are doing to establish nutrition as the primary therapy for all lifestyle diseases like diabetes, thyroid, hypertension, and many more. They need to be friendly and should be willing to go the extra mile to ensure that all of our clients achieve the results they need to live a healthier, worry-free life. Great Companies:  How do you ensure the best service is being provided? Rajan Mahendra: We have multiple processes in place to check the performance of our team. There are mandatory weekly reviews to ensure clients are reaching their health goals. If any client is not responding well to therapy, that client is put on a different regime to suit his needs and so on. We have a very strict follow up with all our clients to ensure they stick to the plan that they have been provided for the week. Sometimes, if a client does not respond we even reach out to the caregiver or the individual who referred them to make sure we get some feedback on the plan and continue it. Our business growth depends on referrals from existing clients and renewals so nothing but the best service helps us grow. We have grown 50% year on year for last 6 years and profitable since 4 years.
