- Anagha Dattatray Joshi, CoFounder at EBA Solutions Private Limited
Great Companies: How did you get your idea or concept for the business? Anagha Dattatray Joshi: The decision to move back from USA to my motherland India triggered this discussion with the partner of the company I was working with. He suggested I start an offshore centre for the company in India to tap into the vast tech skills and support all kinds of tech product development. I immediately took this suggestion, came back to India, and started EBA Solutions Pvt. Ltd with my partner Mr. Ram Kumar. We are here to build the team for you and make sure the team works together to achieve all the goals that you set. We facilitate recruitment, smooth functioning, resource management and resource facilitation. We also partner to sell the products and offer implementation services for your products. Great Companies: What were the struggles and challenges you faced and how did you overcome them? Anagha Dattatray Joshi: Being a first-time entrepreneur I had to face many challenges from getting right people for the job to managing all aspects of a business. In this process, I discovered myself as a leader who by being human, was able to connect to people and get the right people to follow me in this endeavour. I am proud to say that 4 of my first 5 techies are still part of my EBA Family. Being a computer science postgraduate, I was already on top of my tech game but being a commerce graduate helped me understand finance easily. Just by being honest and putting myself in my employees shoes every time I take a decision made me a better person and a leader. I have faced challenges every step of my way for past 11 years and I have emerged out of them by applying my wits and might to find solution to every problem. I found out that I am a problem-solver at heart who likes to find solutions rather than harp on any weakness or curve ball that life throws. Great Companies: How do you plan to grow in the future? What does 5 years down the line EBA Solutions Private Limited? Anagha Dattatray Joshi: My plan for EBA is to become a product company. I want to create products that solve problems people or organizations face in their day-to-day work. I want to create products that automate mundane tasks and free people to do the tasks they like. I am not a big fan of the valuation game. I like to take it slow and steady. EBA will be developing the products with its own strength and experience. We are here for the long game. So, 5 years down the line you will see EBA as a product company with the best human culture where people will want to work and build their future. Great Companies: If you had one piece of advice to someone just starting out, what would it be? Anagha Dattatray Joshi: Enjoy the Journey. Always keep ‘Learning’ as top priority and you will find there are no failures. Website : www.ebasolutions.net
- Ashish Mohan, Founder & Chief Ant - Copy at The Goofy Ants
Great Companies: How did you get your idea or concept for the business? Ashish Mohan:With my previous experience in sales & marketing for global brands, one thing that kept popping up was that global brands still considered India as a distant market and used the concept of “one stick fits all” as yardstick for their marketing strategies. India as a country is very diverse and the buying behaviour changes every 200 kms. This made me realise that brands are yet to understand the power of communication and in the process the small and mid-size businesses are losing as they are unable to employ good communication agencies. Great Companies: What are the various services provided by The Goofy Ants? Ashish Mohan:The GoofyAnts is a 360 degree communication, creative, advertising, and digital marketing agency with a mission to help clients grow and nurture their brands with well-crafted communication. We are a unit of interesting and unusual beings who are passionate about uniqueness, creativity, potency and authenticity in our task. Like the tiny little creature Ants, we believe in perseverance and tenacity. We are honest, pragmatic, simple and humble at the same time, just like Goofy! We provide complete scale of communication offerings ranging from Brand & Design Affiliate & Influencer Marketing Digital & Social Media Marketing Photo & Video Production PR & Communication Paid Performance We’re passionate about clean and effective communication that makes brands talkable! Great Companies: What makes The Goofy Ants different from hundreds of other similar service providers? Ashish Mohan:The Goofy Ants is different from hundreds of similar service providers for the simple reason that we do NOT differentiate our clients basis their paying capacity and we believe in not restricting ourselves to any specific media. For us communication is the key. And to make communication effective, we identify the offerings of our clients (be it a product or a service), segregate the intended target group, devise right communication message to reach to the customer of our clients and then work out the effective media. Our process is just the reverse of what other agencies employ and identify themselves as either a design agency or a digital marketing agency. We are the amalgamation of best of both the worlds as the thin line segregating them doesn’t exist. Great Companies: What were the struggles and challenges you faced and how did you overcome them? Ashish Mohan:For any entrepreneur who is starting with nothing, biggest challenge is obviously getting the right team. I’ve been lucky to have a great team onboard which shares my passion to strive for excellence in whatever GoofyAnts does. Entrepreneurship is a solitary journey which doesn’t mean you have to embark upon alone. But your team, though share the same vision, can only take you further if you believe in them and are able to guide them. Another challenge is obviously breaking the stereotype that any new entrant in this industry has to start from digital marketing. Unfortunately, recent pandemic not only wreaked havoc on the lives and lifestyle but also on clients’ confidence of hiring agencies for their marketing as so many agencies mushroomed during the lockdown while everyone was jumping onto the bandwagon to go online. What helped us was belief in ourselves and patience while pitching to clients to take their fears away and let them experience good communication by means of words and designs. Great Companies: How do you plan to grow in the future? What does 5 years down the line The Goofy Ants? Ashish Mohan: There are no specific plans as such, and I really do not believe in setting up number goals. For me, chasing a number limits our approach and our potential and we could miss achieving far better results than the targeted ones. 5 years down the line, I see Goofyants to be well-respected and appreciated by our existing and past clients with team happy with their growth and learning and chasing new dreams every day. For us, every day is a new day and we keep looking out for more challenges and competing with ourselves to do better work every day. Great Companies: If you had one piece of advice to someone just starting out, what would it be? Ashish Mohan: I don’t have one advice. I’ve more than one. Believe in what you plan. Do not have a plan B. It would make you lose on your Plan A. Have just one plan, test it with all possible scenarios and then, if found workable, go for execution. Invest in people. Trust them. But do not trust them blindly. You will always be the captain of your ship. Be ready to sail alone on a lonely journey as only you know what your vision is and how you are going to achieve it.

Akash Bansal: Just believe in what you are doing. It might not seem right at first, but gradually everything will fall in place. in One Line... - Ashwin Pachori, Horza Private Limited at CoFounder
Great Companies: How did you get your idea or concept for the business? Ashwin Pachori: During my master's when I was completing my project to understand the retail market and the impact of e-commerce on the retail sector. I have found that India's retail sector was facing huge loss and competition from E-Commerce giants, according to Mr. Praveen Khandelwal, Secretary of CAIT, said offline retail sales have dropped about 30 percent due to the ongoing online sales in the market, "Malls are in a bad shape. Retail outlets there are not able to recover even the rent of per square feet area as footfall has decreased tremendously, and the frenzy of online buying has severely hit offline retailers. Buyers quite obviously prefer shopping online for lower prices and dependable delivery options. Also, I tried to find out that existing ecommerce marketplaces are not trying to help retail businesses, during an interview with a store owner he said- We are not able to operate applications and it's very complicated for us to list and sell products online. I discussed the whole scenario with my brother - Eshan along with the problems that the retail sector was facing and soon we decided to capture the market gap and introduce a marketplace that can help every kind of seller to list, advertise and sell products online with minimum tech expertise. Great Companies: What are the various services provided by Horza Private Limited Ashwin PachoriI: We are on a mission to help retail businesses and every kind of seller to list, advertise and sell products online. If a seller doesn't have a GST we help them in that aspect as well, if a seller just operates a small shop and wants to sell online then we help them in product listing. Many local retailers and store owners are not able to capture the nearby audience so for them we help in marketing so that they can attract and capture the nearby buyers to boost offline or walkin sales for their business. Great Companies: What makes Horza Private Limited different from hundreds of other similar service providers? Ashwin Pachori: Before Horza, there were many e-commerce giants and they all were doing really great but our retail business was suffering with huge losses. None of them ever tried to understand the roots of the problem. Because when I met with a few sellers for the first time I found that they were considering E-Commerce as a business threat. All the big names and big campaigns such as - "India k Sellers se bani apni dukan and all '' were fake, maybe few sellers joined other e-commerce marketplaces just because they were technology advanced but most of them were not aware how e-commerce can expand their business reach. Other E-Commerce companies were completely dependent on e-commerce solutions providers such as - Cloudtail, Appario, and etc. None of them wanted to put some extra effort to change the tendency of Indian retailers towards E-Commerce because it really required ground work that no one wanna do. So we decided to first educate the retail business owners about E-Commerce, How it works, How it can help to expand your business reach. So the first thing we did was educating the sellers or retail business owners. Secondly, we note down all the key problems that were stopping sellers from being a part of digital commerce such as- listing process was too complicated. So we noted down everything and designed our website and application in such a way so that it can be utilized by every single seller. It doesn't matter whether he/she has a D2C brand or just a normal store. Our idea and object was very simple that no one should leave behind every store and retail outlet should become a part of Digital India. Great Companies: What were the struggles and challenges you faced and how did you overcome them? Ashwin Pachori: When we start a business, from day 1 everyday we face several challenges and problems such as - lack of knowledge and skills. Generally, in this line we don't have mentors or guides who could tell us what is wrong or right. So we have to make a lot of mistakes but also it is necessary to learn from those mistakes so that they won't appear in the future. And I think experience is the biggest teacher and mentor in your life, with the experience we get guts and confidence that help us to face every challenge in our life. Great Companies: How do you plan to grow in the future? What is 5 years down the line Horza Private Limited? Ashwin PachoriI: So As I mentioned earlier, No one should leave behind - Firstly We would like to onboard sellers and stores on our platform as much as we can. Secondly, We can enrich the shopping experience of our customers. As per analytics we are third preference for our buyers while shopping so we want to position Horza as first , for ex: When someone thinks shopping Horza should be the first choice. Also in the next five year we would like to become "World's First Universal Hyperlocal Marketplace" that means sellers from across the world would be able to sell products globally through Horza and that will help buyers to shop from a wide range of domestic and international products or brands. Great Companies: If you had one piece of advice to someone just starting out, what would it be? Ashwin Pachori: When you are starting a business just start, don't think of making people happy by doing something that you never want to do. For a few years just try to take care of your happiness rather than thinking of society or family and put all efforts to start your business. Close your ears, don't listen to what others say because there are lots of experts sitting out there to tell you thousands of reasons why your business will fail. Just focus on your vision and have enough confidence to make yourself proud.
- Jyot Rekhi, Founder & COO at WAI
Great Companies: How did you get your idea or concept for the business? Jyot Rekhi: The curiosity to learn more about the mysteries of the human mind and its potential led us to perform research on personalities and behavior patterns using scientific methods. We began by making a prototype that could decode the core (inborn) personality and behavior traits of an individual by studying the patterns on their fingerprints using automation and AI. We further built a SaaS with a human-centered approach to benefit diverse areas like education, businesses, coaching, wellness, and intelligence to make informed decisions that are driven by data for personalizing learning, processes, and people management. Great Companies: What are the various services provided by WAI Jyot Rekhi: We provide white-labeled solutions for our proprietary model and SaaS, MiND EngineeringTM - a behavioral assessment smart tool. Jyot Rekhi: WAI is a covid survivor. The lockdown in 2020 coincided with our launch dates and messed with our execution plan. The main struggle was managing energy and adapting to changes without losing sight of the reason why we started. Regular breakouts, supportive conversations, and confrontations with our core team kept us going. Great Companies: How do you plan to grow in the future? What does 5 years down the line WAI? Jyot Rekhi: Our vision is to introduce 16+ applications of MiND EngineeringTM assessments and make it a smart research tool for global and local organizations to personalize their solutions, thereby positively impacting people from multiple geographies. Great Companies: If you had one piece of advice for someone just starting out, what would it be? Jyot Rekhi: Enjoy the journey - be fearless, patient, persistent, and open to changing earlier decisions if new ideas need to be deployed. And most importantly, use MiND assessments to find compatible business partners and teams ;)
- Chandramouli Samatham, Founder & CEO at Caare Healthtech Services Private Limited
Great Companies: How did you get your idea or concept for the business? Chandramouli Samatham: The inspiration came from observing my uncle, Dr. Pavan Kumar Swamy, who has served in the rural village of Orrisa, Jeypore, for over 45 years. Even though he relocated to Visakhapatnam after retiring from the service, some of his patients insist on seeing him. During one of his telemedicine consultations, he sought the assistance of a local nurse who had served him for several years. - Gunjan Pai, Founder CEO at Copylove
Great Companies: How did you get your idea or concept for the business? Gunjan Pai: Copylove is my labour of love. I have built it on my experience of over two decades as a copywriter with Ogilvy & Mather and Lowe Lintas in my early years, and then many agencies and corporates independently – grounds where I gathered invaluable insights on brands and businesses. In the thick of the action in advertising and design, I worked with a lot of ad agencies and design studios. I often wondered why copy or content that can make or break a creative came as a second thought in these studios. Why couldn’t we lead an idea from the front? A gnawing need to hold the copy flag high became the genesis of Copylove in 2015, a work-from-home (WFH) boutique copy and content writing studio. Great Companies: What are the various services provided by Copylove? Gunjan Pai: Think of us when you thinking anything copy and content. We niche deeply into delivering everything that has anything to do with the written word. Branding copywriting Brand discovery Elevator pitch Brand essence Brand values Brand naming Tagline & slogan writing Tone of voice Creative strategy Brand manifesto Sales decks Investor decks Brand catalogues & brochures Content audit Advertising copywriting Environment branding Marketing copywriting Leaflets Marketing newsletters Packaging copy Point of sale Event concepts Press release writing Internal communication Crisis communication Authored article writing Press release writing Product copy Proposal copywriting Speech writing Sales decks Books & Publications Digital copywriting Website launch & relaunch copy Blog writing Email writing Banner concept & writing Award submission writing Case study writing Presentation writing Social strategy & content SEO article writing Infographic copy Mobile app copy Whitepapers Tutorial playbooks E-books Video scripts Great Companies: What makes Copylove different from hundreds of other similar service providers? Gunjan Pai: With many content firms thronging the marketplace today, we believe we still have the early-mover advantage. In our journey, we are led by a lean, all-women team who combine expertise, passion and undying love for writing. We work from Mumbai, Delhi, Goa, and Bangalore, and most importantly, from our hearts. We never tire of saying it. It keeps my team inspired as they live a balanced life working on what they love the most, while being in places they wish to be. We also have a unique approach to our copy and content which begins with an intense deep-dive. It not gives us rich perspective into a client and their needs but also builds faith and camaraderie, setting us up for a long-term relationship. That’s what we believe helps us deliver high-quality, persuasive, and memorable copy that creates the right impact. Great Companies: What are the struggles and challenges you face? Gunjan Pai: Entrepreneurship is a journey dotted with challenges. But no matter what I may have gone through, I would not choose to have it any other way. At the time I started, I was one of the only copy agencies, where the idea of a content-only agency was rare and people were unsure of our capabilities. We were also a WFH company, which further raised eyebrows as were seen as unprofessional. Slowly attitudes changed, and we found steadier ground to build on. But then, came a line-up of severe personal challenges that left me broken to the core. In just a span of three years, I lost the pillars of her life - my husband (also our erstwhile co-founder), my mother-in-law, and my mother. All three were my biggest cheerleaders, and I found myself at the crossroads of life. But I had a child and a dog to look after, and giving up is not in my DNA. I gathered myself and started searching for courses that would equip me to run my business with greater confidence and awareness. I received prestigious scholarships and fellowships from Goldman Sachs, IIM Bangalore and Indian School of Business, which inspired me to transform the way I ran business. I learnt all about numbers, contracts and more, and got to be on top of my business. I met up with peer groups, and continue to join women communities to strengthen my capabilities and add to my learning. I can confidently say that I am stronger than ever before. Great Companies: How do you plan to grow in the future? What do 5 years down the line look like for Copylove? Gunjan Pai: In our 8th year now, the coming five years will welcome us into our 2nd decade of existence. It is a highly existing prospect. We intend to accelerate on the back of our impeccable quality and continued excellence in work. Our industry is strong on word of mouth and we will become synonymous with high-quality and dependable copy. We will also become a sought-after name for copywriters in the market, who will seek to join us. I believe recognition in the industry is also a great way to grow, and we hope that our good work and reputation will help us gain that recognition. Our five-year plan is best summed up in these five intentions: Excel at work Accelerate beyond Exceed our boundaries Be remembered for good Be recognized for better Great Companies: If you had one piece of advice to someone just starting out, what would it be? Gunjan Pai: Start out only if you are in love with and have 100% conviction in your idea. Your work is your Ikigai. In dark times, this love will see you through. In brighter times, it will keep you grounded. All the best.
- Ajit Kumar, Founder and CEO at Auto Tech Expert Group Training (OPC) Pvt. Ltd.
Great Companies: How did you get your idea or concept for the business? Ajit Kumar: I found during my engineering studies that there is a steadily declining need for engineers. Most recently graduated engineers are unemployed. A couple of them applied for the position of peon. I did some study and analysis on the widening gap between academic standards and industry standards. I came up with the idea of building a platform that would serve as a bridge so we could train them both conceptually as well as practically and as a result, Auto Tech Expert Group Training (OPC) Pvt. Ltd. was founded. Great Companies: What are the various services provided by Auto Tech Expert Group Training (OPC) Pvt. Ltd. Ajit Kumar: For B.Tech., M.Tech., and polytechnic students in ME, EE, ECE, EEE, CE, CS, and IT, we offer technical seminars, webinars, workshops, and internships. Great Companies: What makes Auto Tech Expert Group Training (OPC) Pvt. Ltd. different from hundreds of other similar service providers? Ajit Kumar: We offer various support necessary for them to succeed in their careers, including career counselling, project ideas, business ideas, sponsorship, and much more. Also we are collaborating with the industry simultaneously to set up the candidates' placement interviews after the training session. Since it's only a bonus for them, we can't guarantee that they'll get the job. Great Companies: What were the struggles and challenges you faced and how did you overcome them? Ajit Kumar: Two things are critical for any startup. 1. Money; 2. A dedicated team A startup's journey is difficult without it. After graduating, I didn't have a fund or a committed team, but I did have a distinct idea since my mind was clear that "Don't be a job seeker, be a job creator." And I have a strong conviction that if you are sincere about achieving your goals, you will find a way to do it; otherwise, you will find excuses.. I had to begin my venture into entrepreneurship since I was serious. However, I started out with nothing. Thus, I had already established my source of income through tuition when I was in my second year of engineering. I kept doing this after graduation so that I may make money and invest in my business. I used to be turned down the first few times. I went to the college for a seminar. Numerous of them express "NO" emphatically. I encountered disappointment daily. One day, a college's head of department remarked to me, "You just graduated; and you don't have an IIT degree, then why are you wasting my time?" I felt that bed because I knew that talent always beats degree. I was looking for an opportunity to demonstrate that talent is more important than a degree. Later, I recruited an employee, but we didn't see any progress for a year, even though I was still paying the employee's salary. I didn't know about marketing, leadership, business communication skills, and all, therefore she was unable to function successfully. I just started learning all the things. I inspired my team members and myself each day in the hopes that we would succeed. After a year, we were given the chance to conduct the seminar by a college. We were extremely grateful to God and joyful. But I neglected to consider the fact that God constantly assesses your worthiness. A guy who had promised to go to college with me just turned me down the day before the trip. That was a turning point, and I had two options left; 1. I should either postpone the event and miss the opportunity OR 2. I should go and prove to myself that no one can stop me. I went with choice number two. I travelled there and led the seminar. One of my favourite life events was that. Receiving praise from the administration and encouraging comments from the students enabled me to feel more confident. A large number of professors with PhDs from the best IIT colleges now attend the seminar in addition to B.Tech./M.Tech. students. My trust in God and confidence in myself were very helpful. Great Companies: How do you plan to grow in the future? What does 5 years down the line Auto Tech Expert Group Training (OPC) Pvt. Ltd.? Ajit Kumar: We have taken methodical action to grow our business, and we are entirely dedicated to reaching our objective. We are putting a lot of effort into a project that could completely alter India's educational system. Great Companies: If you had one piece of advice to someone just starting out, what would it be? Ajit Kumar: You must launch your startup if you have an original idea that you believe can address a pressing issue facing people. Whatever the case, you either have a team or money. Your willingness to take a risk and follow your passion will determine everything. Take a chance, but remember that doing so won't mean losing your supplementary income. It will assist you in recovering. Learn to embrace failure since at first, all you'll encounter is opposition. You could be approaching the point where you will find yourself alone. Everyone will work to refute your claims. After receiving numerous rejections, there will come a time when everyone will tell you to just give up now. If, however, my dear friend, you continue to fight for your dream at that time, I can guarantee that it will mark a pivotal moment in your life. Keep in mind that you must pursue your dreams if that's yours. You can expect people to come and go at any time. Never allow them to crush your aspirations. I typically tell folks who try to sabotage my dream; 1. No one can stop me from building the company of my dreams. No one can stop this. It will only close permanently when i'll take my last breath. 2. I'll pursue my dream whether you help me or not. In either case, it will take place. I'm convinced that if you're sincere, you'll succeed. To rule your world, have faith and put forth the effort.
- Mohit Mohapatra ,Founder-Ceo at NATUREPRO ORGANIC SCIENCES PVT LTD
Great Companies: How did you get your idea or concept for the business? Mohit Mohapatra: The idea had been inculcated in my head since childhood as I belong to a family that was into manufacturing beauty and personal care products for the past 20 years. With the right learning from working at a few unicorns and my experience in sales & marketing helped bring NATUREPRO to reality. Great Companies: What are the various services provided by NATUREPRO ORGANIC SCIENCES PVT LTD Mohit Mohapatra: NATUREPRO is India's 1st truly sustainable brand. We currently have 7 category leading products, of which our VOLUMIST AMINO SHAMPOO and VOLUMIST RESTORE HAIROIL are our marquee products in the haircare category. We also have India's 1st serum based cleanser and India's 1st face moisturiser without any microplastics in it. We also provide selfcare consulting services to our users with the use of AI and ML technologies. Great Companies: What makes NATUREPRO ORGANIC SCIENCES PVT LTD different from hundreds of other similar service providers? Mohit Mohapatra: NATUREPRO is driven purely by 4 standpoints of sustainability : responsible production & consumption, ethical sourcing, climate action and animal cruelty free. Along with these we also make sure to implant sustainability into manufacturing (by using renewable energy), our complete supply chain, packaging and logistics as well. All our products are MADESAFE certified from Australia and are 100% science-nature powered. Great Companies: What were the struggles and challenges you faced and how did you overcome them? Mohit Mohapatra: Every challenger brand has to face their own set of challenges. Going against the status quo can sometimes be insanely difficult. We have faced multiple challenges in terms of pan-India operations and marketing in the past; and we still face a few challenges everyday. Having said that, we also possess a strong and lean team that is able to mitigate every challenge we face with frugal and swift methodologies and processes. Great Companies: How do you plan to grow in the future? What does 5 years down the line NATUREPRO ORGANIC SCIENCES PVT LTD? Mohit Mohapatra: We have plans of foraying into the retail market by the end of this year, as from past insights we have seen that only about 1.5% of the Indian population shops online actively. The TAM available through retail is really huge and can possibly be home to a few more sustainability driven startups in the consumer packaged goods category. We at NATUREPRO do not have 5 year plans, we rather look at 1 year mission and at 50 years vision. I want the brand/company to outlast the founder(myself). Great Companies: If you had one piece of advice to someone just starting out, what would it be? Mohit Mohapatra: To anyone who is just starting out, it is necessary to run multiple pilots before focusing on perfecting the product. Consumer feedback and understanding of consumer trends is really important to be able to launch a consumer brand. In general, people should be consistent and should not give up even when they face challenges in their entrepreneurial journey.

- Pamela Clark, Founder/Executive Director at New Heights Educational Group
Great Companies: How did you get your idea or concept for the business? Pamela Clark: Originally, I was a home school mom and other moms would come to me for advice. Then after homeschooling for about four years, I learned about charter schools. I became a parent leader for a charter school for some time. During that time, I helped many families from all school backgrounds. I advocated for families to receive a fair education. Once I discovered that families needed to cooperate, especially in educating children with learning difficulties such as ADHD, bipolar disorder, autism, and neurological disorders. When I left the charter school I had a meeting with a few moms I had served. One of the first things I told them was that I wanted to create a group that helps all families. I had served so many families from multiple school backgrounds at this time, I didn't understand the strict lines drawn by those in the education system. Everyone pays taxes whether they have children in public school, yet there was minimal, or no support offered to the homeschoolers asking for access to the art, music, and other programs. Charter school students receive help only from the charter they belong too, and traditional schools only care about the students in their classrooms. I didn't want to combine them into one school but truly believe that everyone willing to work for it deserves a fair and equal education. NHEG wants families to reach their dreams and goals. When a family and student reach their full potential, we all benefit as a society. Great Companies: What are the various services provided by New Heights Educational Group? Pamela Clark: New Heights Educational Group is the first one-stop-shop in education. NHEG has served over 550,000 students via online services and courses via its site and affiliate and partner sites. I lead a team of 73 volunteers who research advancements, provide training to teachers and tutors, create courses and tutor students. The organization has many internal departments including education, research, graphics, photography, HR, social media and marketing, proofreading/editing, authors/writers/script writers, comic book, production management for magazine, content builders, internet radio show/podcast, accounting and more. NHEG provides fill-in-the-gap tutoring to reach students who have been left behind by traditional schools. It offers classes, an educational magazine called the NHEG EDGuide and the E.A.S.YToons comic books that has over 100,540 Views. . The organization has published two books: Unraveling Reading and Unraveling Science. Both books are part of the Unraveling series, which provides strategies to parents, teachers and tutors to help them support children’s learning processes. The series will include a book for each subject. One Nonprofit’s Journey to Success, written by an NHEG volunteer, was released worldwide in March 2015 and tells the organization’s story. NHEG’s internet radio show, New Heights Show on Education, has had over 357,841 listens and is on 29 networks and became a syndicated show in 2019. NHEG and its partners/affiliates offer over 1,200 low-cost and high-quality courses on its website, and it makes national and international leadership opportunities available to its students. In 2020, NHEG grew its reach by over 90,000 people. In 2021, through new partnerships with Stack Social, Skillwise, National CSI Camp, Citizen Goods and The Hip Hop Healthy Heart Program for Children and Natural Born Leaders, it has more than tripled its previous course offerings with the over 1,280 free and discounted unique courses mentioned above and another 284 classroom resources for all subject matters. The in-person reading program switched to an online reading program with the help of one of NHEG’s partners (The 2nd & 7 Foundation), and it went from a 2-tier to a 5-tier reading program within the last year. Great Companies: What makes New Heights Educational Group different from hundreds of other similar service providers? Pamela Clark: NHEG is the only organization that offers a range of educational services and resources under one business. We excel at it; we are the best in the world at it. This is proven by the many awards and recognition the organization has won since its creation and the many families that have benefited from this dream. Great Companies: What are the struggles and challenges you face? Pamela Clark: Every step of the way there has been struggles and challenges. It is a struggle to reach those in the educational system that see us as a threat instead of what the organization can do for the community. Many in power have biased thinking and keep us a secret from the families in need of our services. Instead, they send families to for-profit businesses that they can't afford and, in turn, cause more difficulties for these very families; it's a vicious cycle. Funding is our biggest roadblock; everything NHEG has built, all the work it has done is yet to be fully funded. It would cost $457,567.00 to fund the first year of the organization’s entire dream. That amount is less than is spent on two school drop-outs over a lifetime of receiving public assistance, and yet NHEG struggles to receive funding. It is very frustrating. Great Companies: How do you plan to grow in the future? What do 5 years down the line look like for New Heights Educational Group? Pamela Clark: NHEG envisions building a computer lab and learning center Purpose: The lab and learning center will provide a space for academic research, academic studies, school assignments, educational planning, testing and tutoring services and other educational options. The lab can be used by families with students enrolled in any type of school or afterschool programs, for homeschool resources and as a teaching space for themed co-op/enrichment classes. The facilities will enable NHEG to teach, assist and provide technology resources to families for self-learning. Genealogy program - NHEG is looking to create a genealogy program with the goal of building students’ self-esteem and further connecting them to their community and country. NHEG GED Program / Testing Site and implementing a sensory room for those with disabilities and creating a daycare for young mothers and fathers. Creation of a sensory room in the hopes of reaching students with disabilities/special needs. This is very important for those with special needs and can open a new world for these students and their families. Support for Teenage Parents NHEG works with many teen parents that are struggling with the traditional education settings. Those that have children while still in high school or college, can still have a successful life if they have access to a support system. They are encouraged and treated with fairness and respect. NHEG recognizes the value of self-esteem and works towards building theirs by listening to their dreams and helping them achieve them. The organization provides a support system with affordable child-care, fun activities and learning opportunities, promotes student leadership, and teaches them to value themselves, so they can continue their educational endeavors. NHEG excels at providing this support that helps them reach their goals and this must be done if we want to effect change in society. Great Companies: If you had one piece of advice to someone just starting out, what would it be? Pamela Clark: Don't just start a business, start a passion. If starting a charity, find someone in your community doing something similar and volunteer for a while. Never think of any job as beneath you; do everything and learn everything, so you can mentor others.
