Great Companies: How did you get your idea or concept for the business?

Chandramouli Samatham: The inspiration came from observing my uncle, Dr. Pavan Kumar Swamy, who has served in the rural village of Orrisa, Jeypore, for over 45 years. Even though he relocated to Visakhapatnam after retiring from the service, some of his patients insist on seeing him. During one of his telemedicine consultations, he sought the assistance of a local nurse who had served him for several years. This instantly made me understand that even though he wasn't in Jeypore, he was still able to serve the patient from Visakhapatnam with the help of a local Nurse.

Chandramouli Samatham: People have used virtual care visits and services more than ever since the COVID outbreak began but people in rural regions encountered higher challenges to adopting these telehealth techniques than those in urban areas. To address this, we at Caare will empower the health workers in Rural areas with our simplified Mobile App so that they can become a bridge between the Rural Patient and the Specialist Doctor in the city. A Health worker at the patient home can simplify the process for the patients and doctor can get crucial vitals of patients allowing them to give a better treatment plan.

Great Companies: What makes Healthtech Services Private Limited different from hundreds of other similar service providers?

Chandramouli Samatham: We will deliver the care right at the doorstep of the Rural communities. Additionally we are enhancing our platform with an AI-powered, video-based, software-only solution that will enable any one in need of real-time health data to easily extract a wide range of health indicators from mobile phones / laptops with end-user agreement.

Great Companies: What are the struggles and challenges you face?

Chandramouli Samatham: Educating the Rural communities on the benefits of Telemedicine is the biggest challenge we faced and we took the support of local health workers to overcome the challenge.

Great Companies: How do you plan to grow in the future? What do 5 years down the line look like for Healthtech Services Private Limited?

Chandramouli Samatham: We are aspiring to bring onboard at least 100,000 health workers in next 5 years who can in turn support several communities across India.

Chandramouli Samatham: Believe in the idea but always be open to pivot based on the circumstances.
