- Aviad Efrat - CEO and Founder of Fantastic Framing Pty Ltd
Great Companies: Please tell me something about the business and how did you come up with such an idea? Aviad Efrat: My business is all about framing, canvas, and paintings. I came up with this idea because no one started this kind of business here in Australia. It was risky at first but everything is worth it because we made our business grow an up until now we are the only company who is doing this kind of service. And we are servicing Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Perth. Great Companies: What are the various services and products provided by your company? Aviad Efrat: We support mobile services where we go to place to make collections or meetings with the client and let them decide what they want from their artworks. We also provide free pickup and delivery depending on the location. Great Companies: Why should one choose you over others in this field? Aviad Efrat: They should choose us as we provide more options to our clients, we let them decide what they want, and we also give our clients affordable prices. Great Companies: What are the struggles and challenges you face? Aviad Efrat: The only struggle and challenging part with this kind of business is that there are some clients are going to cancel with their bookings sometimes. And they are doing that once the framer is in their location already. But we are still lucky that we are still operating during this pandemic crisis. Great Companies: What do you think are the few main things which are most important for a successful business? Aviad Efrat: Patience and courage and also you need to trust and love your employee at the same time. Because they are the one who is helping me making my company grow.

- Philip Spencer - Managing Director of London DE Fine Jewellery
Great Companies: Please tell me something about the business and how did you come up with such an idea? Philip Spencer: When I founded London DE in 2013 it was with a passion for gemstones and jewellery, combined with a long-running urge to start and scale my own business from scratch. After serving in the armed forces, followed by a spell in financial services, I wanted to break out and do something new and creative. I took the decision to start the business in summer 2012. As my 30's dawned I began to feel the pang of 'it’s now or never’. Then as a spectator watching the London 2012 Olympics, I was inspired to create a brand based around London as a trademark. Great Companies: What are the various services and products provided by your company? Philip Spencer: We specialise in bespoke jewellery creation and colored gemstones, including Colombian emeralds and sapphires and rubies from South East Asia. We work with both the trade and retail markets. Great Companies: Why should one choose you over others in this field? Philip Spencer: We operate in a well-established and competitive market. We have unique selling points that differentiate us from some of our rivals with similar business models, including: Leibish; 77 Diamonds; Blue Nile; Taylor & Hart and James Allen. We distinguish ourselves from these businesses in several ways; our main focus being upon the ethical standards and integrity of our business. This means we take great care in confirming the provenance of the materials and gemstones we use, ensuring fair trade and environmental principles and standards are maintained. We have a unique set of relationships with South American emerald producers and suppliers and a European exclusivity agreement with one of the principle emerald dealers in Colombia. This allows us to offer one of the widest ranges of products and services in our industry. As a result, our consumers are provided an unrivaled level of choice, along with price guarantees and a deeply personal buying journey from start to finish. Great Companies: What are the struggles and challenges you face? Philip Spencer: My journey has been tough and rewarding in equal measure, with ups and downs, successes and failures but I gradually learned my industry and entrepreneurship little by little. Crucially, family and friends in the gemstone and jewellery industry and the gemstone trade gave me access to the partners and support that I needed to create a niche and USP - the ethical sourcing and supply of colored gemstones and bespoke jewellery from mine to market. Great Companies: What do you think are the few main things which are most important for a successful business? Philip Spencer: The mining and processing of colored gems is a multi-billion-dollar international industry. Despite the high profile, an ethical, sustainable mine-to-market supply chain for these materials is a high priority to reduce the impact on the physical environment and quality of life for laborers. Our mission is to deliver precious gemstones and bespoke jewellery to business and retail markets in an ethical and cost effective way. We ensure the integrity of our products, from mine to retail market, with a fair trade approach. One of our key USPs is a hybrid proposal to an often impersonal buying journey - achieved with a consultative based sales process and personalised 'click & buy'. The impact of the business model is increased choice and satisfaction. By cultivating our working relationships, we are in in a strong position for growth. With an additional capital injection, we plan to increase revenues and employ extra staff to meet the increasing demand for ethical gemstones and jewellery.

- Charlotte Spencer-Bower - Founder & Creative Director of Threethirds Ltd
Great Companies: Please tell me something about the business and how did you come up with such an idea? Charlotte Spencer-Bower: Ever since I was young, I was always fond of art and design. I left school to undertake a Bachelor of Design, specializing in visual communication (B.Des). At the age of 21 I had a degree under my belt. Fast forward 6 years and I took a 5 month leave from my job at the time to travel overseas. I came back and felt I wasn’t using my skills to the best of their ability and I wasn’t furthering myself professionally or personally. I knew I had the right motivation and ability to start and operate a successful company and thought, if not now, when. I started Threethirds early 2019, and have never looked back. A lot of people ask me the reason why I named my company Threethirds. The name came about through the personal connection to myself. I was born on the 3rd of March (3/3), I am the third child in my family, My name starts with C which the the third letter of the alphabet, My first and last names together are three words and the connection to the design aspect comes in with the ‘rule of thirds’ which is breaking an image into threes, both horizontally and vertically. Great Companies: What are the various services and products provided by your company? Charlotte Spencer-Bower: One of Threethirds motto's is 'Anything you can put your brand on, we can do it’ So we undertake anything from the initial brand identity and establishment of a Logo or a Business Rebrand, through to Adverts, Business Cards, Flyers and Rack Cards, Brochures and Booklets, Posters and Printing, Clothing Designs, Vehicle Designs, Signage, Websites and much more. We also do smaller, bespoke jobs such as wedding stationary or personalized designs. Our skill set is vast and our ideas are limitless! Our designs are one of a kind and you won’t find anything them that already exist. They are designed especially for the client in mind. Great Companies: Why should one choose you over others in this field? Charlotte Spencer-Bower: The great thing about Threethirds is we want your business to succeed. We spend the time to find out about you and your company, and the direction you want your design to take. This gives us an insight into how involved you want to be, if you have any particular ideas already or are completely open to our thoughts and guidance. We don’t have a ‘one size fits all approach’ as we treat each client/project individually and personally, which is the most important to us. We listen, we are efficient, we offer variety and we are great at communicating. We come up with bespoke designs to work in with your brand, and have a professional, clean, and modern approach to designing. We have worked with many different clients, professions and businesses, and have always found the right style and approach of design to work in with your line of work, and to tick your boxes. You have to love the look of the brand as you are the one that has to be involved with it every single day. We are also in our line of work for the love of it. Graphic design is our passion and what drives our business. As much as we need to make money to stay in business, this isn’t the driving factor. Great Companies: What are the struggles and challenges you face? Charlotte Spencer-Bower: Working alone can take it’s toll some days. I used to work in a team environment at previous jobs, and having people to laugh and chat with was super important and lifting for me. It helped with that healthy relationship work/life balance as well as the opportunity to bounce ideas off and further your skills. However, I do love working from my own studio, something I have grown all by myself. It’s an inviting, comfortable and creative space which I enjoy walking in to each morning. As I continue to grow my business, I hope to have the opportunity to employee staff, so that they can experience the great work we get through our doors, and to be part of a company with some pretty unique values and clients. Great Companies: What do you think are the few main things which are most important for a successful business? Charlotte Spencer-Bower: The most important factors which contribute to a successful business are first and foremost being genuine and friendly. It is so important to be ‘a person’ and not ‘automated response’. You have to be someone that clients can connect with and really get on well with. In my option, this is where the most amazing concepts can come from. When there is a connection between the client and creator, and they both have the same vision in mind for the success of their business or project going forward. It is also extremely important to have a high quality of work, be efficient, honest and have good communication with both clients and suppliers. I also find having the ability to offer variety in my work is important, and to do what you have to do in order to meet the needs of your clients, so that they fall in love with the end product. These are just some of the key factors which have made Threethirds successful and will be values that we strive to achieve as we continue to grow.
- Abhishek Mehta, Rohan Udeshi and Sahil Jain Founders of Visionaire Events
Great Companies: Please tell me something about the business and how did you come up with such an idea? Abhishek Mehta, Rohan Udeshi and Sahil Jain: Like most start-ups in India, our story also began from a bedroom brainstorming session with an exhaustive focus on "what's next in life" and for us (Abhishek Mehta, Rohan Udeshi and Sahil Jain) "being your own boss" was a dream for years, before it finally becomes a reality. Since childhood, we had been exposed to family business and entrepreneurship was always on the mind. Throughout 5 years of friendship, we were fortunate enough to participate and volunteer for events with various for-profit and not-for-profit organizations. That is when we hit a spark, a bond of brotherhood and trust which is one of the most important factors of a successful partnership. Hence we thought it would be a great idea to bring together our capabilities in a market, which we have been exploring for years. Visionaries Events is a full-fledged event management company, striving to create extraordinary event experiences. Our established systems and processes ensure a smooth flow of work from beginning to end. We break barriers when we need to and go that extra mile. We started as a team of 5 members and currently a team of 28 young, creative, dynamic & dedicated professionals, who have pushed all areas of event management to new frontiers, whether it is artist management, product launch, exhibition, road-show, fashion show, wedding planning & celebrity management. Our motto has always been to satisfy our clients in terms of providing the best services at competitive rates. Great Companies: What are the various services and products provided by your company? Abhishek Mehta, Rohan Udeshi and Sahil Jain: With our major business being weddings, we have a separate wing that specializes from Sangeet Sandhya & Bandoli to Mehendi & Haldi, which also look after Destination Weddings. We also look at end-to-end production and planning of corporate events& parties, brand activation, exhibition and concerts. Great Companies: Why should one choose you over others in this field? Abhishek Mehta, Rohan Udeshi and Sahil Jain: We are a young dynamic team from "Generation Z" with fresh, creative ideas and organized functional systems using modern technology for operations and manage logistics. We are organized and systematic when it comes to management and execution. As we tailor-make our plans based on our client's needs and budgets we show them visualized plans either via a presentation or a 3D mapping to a better understanding of things they are paying for and should expect which most old companies fail to explain. We are open to new ideas and we also take our client's suggestions and feedback very seriously. Great Companies: What are the struggles and challenges you face? Abhishek Mehta, Rohan Udeshi and Sahil Jain: Luckily we never had internal issues, most of our struggles were due to external factors, majorly being old competitors, unrealistic client expectations and financials. 1. There has always been an old competitor or a field giant that held Monopoly with huge deposits at venues to be a venue partner but lacked innovations and quality. As a fresher, we also faced such challenges before our work spoke about our quality and dedication. 2. In the last 5 years, we have come across several different clients. Some clients have different unrealistic expectations and just like those client expectations vs. client budgets memes, we have seen them as well. But in order to succeed in a competitive business world, we never gave up and tried fulfilling or finding suitable solutions to tackle the situations because when life gives you lemons, make lemonade. 3. Like the saying 'money begets money', one of the biggest challenges for us was financial management. Many times we had to pay advances to our vendors from our pockets or borrow from friends and family as clients would not trust paying advances to new start-ups. Great Companies: What do you think are the few main things which are most important for a successful business? Abhishek Mehta, Rohan Udeshi and Sahil Jain: The truth is, great success in business grows from just one, tiny seed. Once we had planted that seed all we need was a great team, the right attitude, patience and good use of our networking skills. Great companies start with great people and like Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe once said: "A great person attracts great people and who knows how to hold them together”. You don't build a business, you build people and those people build the business. A concept we really believe in and have seen work really positive for us. Our connections with our employees are so strong that they not only produce high-quality work but are also dedicated from the top down. Our core team has been with us since the very start and their growth has been unbelievable. Maintaining good relationships with the clients. Having a good client relationship has helped us build a great company reputation especially as a start-ups. Building trust and loyalty are important in maintaining a healthy relationship as it leads to an increase in word-of-mouth communication, which in turn helps to build good business leads. Do remember, sometimes it is okay to let go instead of chasing or accepting business that would be bad for the company.

- Mr James H Bennett- Founder of AskPathfinder
Great Companies: Please tell me something about the business and how did you come up with such an idea? Mr James H Bennett: It's a wonderful thing to see selling done really well!.done in a way that benefits both Seller and Buyer.so it grates when I see selling being done in a 'salesy' / 'pushy' / manipulative kind of way.the way that many people associate with 'selling', in fact. and I am saddened when I see Sole Traders and Small Businesses miss opportunities for both them and their Clients - simply because they 'don't want to come across as salesy' and/or don't know how to make more of their opportunities.Professional selling is not, in fact, what most people think it is.Professional selling is not marketing - a world of telling people what we do.Professional selling is not Websites, Pitches and Offers.Professional selling is not just negotiating and closing.Professional selling is the conversation during which a Buyer receives value, not just from what is sold but also FROM THE ACT of it being sold to them.So Professional selling most often helps the Client find a better answer to the one they first thought they needed. And what most people don't know, is that being able to 'Help people Buy' in this way simply involves learning and practising skills. Skills that yields them more business AND fulfils the golden rule of selling - 'Helping people buy'. Skills that help them seize every opportunity.I spent 35 Years in Big Ticket Corporate Sales as a Sales Person and Sales Leader. During this time, I was taught and endlessly practised the art and science of world class selling. And whilst much of it is undoubtedly over-engineered and over-complicated for Sole Trading and running Small Businesses, there are core techniques that everyone can use from that 'BIG' world which I have distilled, simplified and scaled down to fit Small Businesses. These are the skills I share as I coach my Clients in finding their own style, their own way, their own Path to great selling - helping their Clients buy and seizing every opportunity. Great Companies: What are the various services and products provided by your company? Mr James H Bennett: 1. Self-Assessment - that builds on what my Client already knows and is good at - as well as identifying skills gaps that can be filled. 2. Coaching the Mindset of great selling - largely dispelling myths and misconceptions! 3. Coaching TRUE Selling Skills - Specifically the methods and techniques proven to 'Help Clients & Customers Buy' 4. Support - Continuous coaching to help my Clients make the most of every opportunity 5. Coaching to help my Clients identify more places to offer their products and services...and then how to sell them there. Great Companies: Why should one choose you over others in this field? Mr James H Bennett: 1. I am NOT driven by ego and making money - I am not seeking to be the next 'Sales Guru' - I am driven simply by a desire to 'give back'. My greatest reward is giving people the understanding and confidence to sell really well - to delight their Clients & Customers 2. I bring simplicity, structure and method to the titbits of advice from books, seminars and On-line 'Gurus'. I focuses on giving people: *Knowledge of what works * Confidence of what to do * Understanding of how to do it giving them a method from the moment they first encounter a potential Client / Customer to the point of agreeing business.....and then agreeing more. Great Companies: What are the struggles and challenges you face? Mr James H Bennett: An appreciation of what selling REALLY is, * Many people seem to think that marketing will do the selling for them and all they need to do in 'selling' is to close the business....they don't know the opportunity they've never seen so they don't know the opportunities they're missing. * Many people have had bad experiences of 'sales people'. They associate selling with those kind of 'sales people' and don't want to be like 'them'. * Many people believe that communicating their knowledge of a subject, topic, service IS selling - not realising that, important as knowledge is, 'telling' and being an authority on something is NOT selling'. Great Companies: What do you think are the few main things which are most important for a successful business? Mr James H Bennett: 1. Absolute clarity on what we do and how it REALLY benefits Clients / Customers 2. Understanding the REAL reasons (BOTH emotional and logical) for Clients / Customers buying products / services...they're not just logical! 3. Relentlessly focusing on what Clients and Customers REALLY need - Focusing on that vs what we do 4. Continuously challenging assumptions and beliefs in order to be able to offer innovate new services and products 5. Managing cash well 6. Managing people brilliantly - both employees and Clients / Customers.

We believe an optimized Quality which meets customer’s implicit and explicit expectations. Great Companies: What are the major issues faced while running this business? Puneet Agrawal: “Market Disruption” now a days becomes major challenge in flexible packaging industry. This has been quite common for upcoming industry / small industry. Market needs not drive solely based on “Cost Differentiation” rather a holistic approach should be taken while deciding the price and value of a product. A systematic and international certified organization on Global Food hygiene practices likes us may have some additional overhead, we call it as investment, which sometime lead to marginal costing difference from other players. Great Companies: How do you come up with new ideas and trends? Puneet Agrawal: We keeps on attending seminar, exhibitions and keep ourselves with the latest information of packaging industry. We believe knowledge is the key to explore new ideas. We brainstorm among team, adapt micro level process and product understanding and see where betterment can be done. We constantly keeps in touch with supplier, customers and concerned stakeholders to get the best possible adaptation that can be done in process and product.
