  • Neeraj Gupta, CEO & Founder Director at Salonist

Great Companies: How did you get your idea or concept for the business? Neeraj Gupta: I conceptualized the idea for Salonist after a memorable trip to Singapore. So, the story goes like this. In 2015, I went to Singapore and met my friend who owns a salon in Paragon. While reminiscing about the good times during the dinner and discussing business stuff, he brought up the managerial issue he was facing with his salon. The major problems he was facing were inventory management, appointment scheduling, and managing multiple branches. After that, I wanted to explore the situation myself so I visited the other salons in the nearby locations. With my brief research, I observed that most salons were carrying on their operations manually and this conventional method was getting in their way. I realized that this can be resolved with management software that can streamline their operations. This will leave plenty of time for them to work on expanding their business and work on other strategies. I came back with the idea to make a salon management software and upon returning I discussed it with my core team. With the hard work and dedication of our team, we launched Salonist in 2017. Great Companies: What are the various services provided by Salonist Neeraj Gupta: Salonist is feature-rich software that covers all aspects of salon management and operations. From appointment booking and payment to reporting and staff management, Salonist is capable of offering all the benefits. The software contains advanced features like point of sale, reports, analytics, staff payroll, customer management, inventory management, and marketing automation. With aid of these tools, one can boost overall productivity and streamline salon operations. With the online booking and payment system salons can revolutionize their scheduling process and client management. Plus, it allows salons to integrate their booking page with social media handles as well, expanding their reach. Whenever a client comes in touch with the salon services regardless of the platform, they can directly reach the booking page. For staff management, it has an automated payroll that helps calculate and prepare salaries taking into account attendance, working hours, and commission. It also allows salon managers to get the staff login information and control their access authority. Apart from the operational features, Salonist also undertakes the reporting task and provides detailed reports about every aspect of the business. This helps keep track of all the development and also to gauge the overall performance. Another incredible segment of features Slonist offers is the automated marketing functions. These work to improve the salon’s online presence and broaden its reach to be closer to the potential customers. It also assists in maintaining good customer relationships and attracting more customers by automatically reaching out to customers with promotions and offers. Great Companies: What makes Salonist different from hundreds of other similar service providers? Neeraj Gupta: Salonist was founded with the motive of providing beauty and wellness businesses with the best tools to increase their productivity and profitability. So far, we have aided over 10,000 salons worldwide with the impressive qualities of our salon management software. With an extensive list of features and quality services, these salons are flourishing in the beauty and wellness industry. Being a customizable software, Salonist gives salon owners the freedom to completely get it under the skin of their salon. This isn’t the case with a lot of management software out there. Salonist focuses on making the client experience better while giving salon owners the right tools to manage their own operations efficiently. Moreover, we have an experienced crew working diligently to improve the software experience and add more advanced features. These unique features and a hardworking team are what separate us from the crowd. And we have made salon management easy for varied beauty and wellness businesses in 60 countries. Great Companies: What were the struggles and challenges you faced and how did you overcome them? Neeraj Gupta: The service industry is on a steady upsurge and we’re constantly in the process of evolving to help SMEs and salon chains through Salonist. We observed that most of the management solutions in the market were based on old technologies tracing back to the ’90s. So, our primary focus was on building a reliable cloud-based CRM solution In the time between 2015, the year this idea was conceived and in 2017, when we launched our salon management software, we incorporated everything. Our energy, knowledge, and experience all came together to build Salonist. It is an all-inclusive software that offers marketing abilities, streamlines operations, provides analytics & reports, and has a mobile app. Great Companies: How do you plan to grow in the future? What do 5 years down the line look like for Salonist? Neeraj Gupta: We have many strategies that we are planning to put into practice to highlight and improve Salonist’s advantages. We are expanding our team, adding more features to our products, and properly optimizing our services. When we look 5 years down the road, Salonist will have a greater and more satisfied customer base. Great Companies: If you had one piece of advice for someone just starting out, what would it be? Neeraj Gupta: Keep your customers in mind while making every decision because they made you who you are. Stay updated with the trends and developments in your industry. Lastly, keep working hard to raise the bar despite the problems and hardships.

  • Jordan Statham, Founder at The Conduction Company Ltd

Great Companies: How did you get your idea or concept for the business? Jordan Statham: We deal primarily with electricity (electrical conduction) and heating/cooling/air conditioning (thermal conduction), Hence our name - The Conduction Company However, 80% of our clients have completely forgotten high school physics - so they might not understand our name. What they DO understand: - The Conduction Company employ the greatest tradespeople on the face of the planet. - The Conduction Company consistently blow peoples minds with the level of service they provide. - The Conduction Company leaves other trades companies in thick trails of dust. Great Companies: What are the various services provided by The Conduction Company Ltd Jordan Statham: Our core staff are fully registered and licensed electricians and inspectors We can install, repair, maintain or report on anything that involves cabling/wires. When we started we were strictly focused on providing electrical solutions In the early days, we’d often hear this type of thing from our clients: ‘Wow, you guys are so professional - not to mention, good looking - you make the whole process so very simple. I wish all tradespeople were like you’ We would hear this over and over and over again. We thought to ourselves, why cant other tradespeople operate like we do? What if we were to hand select only the finest tradespeople known to man, school them on our ultimate processes? We could do it WAY better than anyone else who has ever lived. SO - we now have an extensive network of trusted tradespeople at our disposal Many of our clients now use us to handle the whole project Because they know if TCCO handle it, they are in the safest of hands. WHAT WE DO: - Air Conditioning - Ventilation (extraction and positive pressure) - CCTV and Cameras - Security Systems and Alarms - Power Supplies - Lighting Design - TV, AV, Aerials and Satellites - Building and Electrical Inspection - Certification - Maintenance of all types - Generators and Backup Supplies - Data, Phone and WiFi Project Management Includes - Building Repairs and Maintenance - New Building (LBP) - Building Reports - Plumbing - Gas fitting - Roofing / Guttering - Commercial Air Conditioning - Landscaping, decks and fences Great Companies: What makes The Conduction Company Ltd different from hundreds of other similar service providers? Jordan Statham: After talking to our clients, we’ve discovered the biggest issue they have with tradespeople: Most are great at what they do, but they've spent exactly zero minutes focusing on the client experience. We have used a feedback loop (we’ll ask after every job) to refine and modify our systems and processes. What's the result? Ultimate service from the second you call us, right through to when our tradespeople are waving goodbye after thoroughly cleaning up after themselves. Seriously - we are second to NONE. You only need to read a couple of our reviews as evidence. Great Companies: What were the struggles and challenges you faced and how did you overcome them? Jordan Statham: We struggle with being asked for autographs constantly. We struggle to get people off the phone when they’re telling us how great their experience was. We struggle knowing that people are still using substandard services, when we exist and we’re just a phone call away. It's a challenge to find anyone who comes even close to our level It’s a challenge living with the knowledge that we have reached absolute mastery of our respective trades. It’s a challenge to find the Apple TV remote in our house with 2 toddlers. It has been lost for almost 3 months. Great Companies: How do you plan to grow in the future? What does 5 years down the line look like for The Conduction Company Ltd? Jordan Statham: Growth has been exponential for us thus far. We expect no different moving forward. Current trajectory = global domination within 5 years. Great Companies: If you had one piece of advice to someone just starting out, what would it be? Jordan Statham: The numbers are sacred. Know thy numbers Website : https://www.tcco.co.nz/ Social Media : Facebook | Instagram | LinkedIn

  • A good story has six facets: time, place, main character, a goal, an obstacle and events

A good story has a blend of six components: time, place, main character, a goal, an obstacle and events. Stories have the potential to establish trust and form deeper connections between the teller of the story and its audience by exploring realities everyone can relate to. People make most decisions from their subconscious and emotional brain functions; by creating an engaging narrative, stories can guide individuals towards making favorable decisions as they identify with specific circumstances. A well-crafted story should be able to calm and illustrate the value that a company offers through contextualization. An original tale is more easily remembered and captivates customers to form long-lasting associations with the product or service being marketed. Sales calls can be challenging, so it is important for salespeople to remain self-motivated. Remind yourself of the value you bring through recalling a time when you helped to improve a customer's experience. Think about how the problem arose in the first place, what solutions did you provide to solve it and how did the customer respond when presented with your proposed solution? This story can serve as motivation to help remind yourself why our sales calls are focused on delivering excellent customer service. Crafting stories that highlight how you and your business help people can build a strong rapport with potential clients. Develop narratives from their perspective to demonstrate the solutions you bring to industry-related problems. A good story has six facets: time, place, main character, a goal, an obstacle and events 1. Time Time is an essential facet of any good story because it adds depth to the narrative and informs the readers when important events happen. The beginning of your story should introduce when and where the story takes place, allowing the reader to better understand the story’s context. It also allows you to create suspense by using flashbacks or foreshadowing elements of what may come. 2. Place The setting or place in which a story occurs plays an important role in defining and developing the plot. The environment can be as simple or complex as you need it to be and can influence how a character behaves, decides, and reacts to various situations throughout the narrative arc. 3. Main Character One of the most important participants in a good story is its main character, which often provides readers with whom they must identify or invest themselves in for successful storytelling—an essential element that makes reading enjoyable and worth one’s time. A strong protagonist helps carry the plot forward, depending on their goals, feelings, abilities and willingness to take risks that either propel or impede their journey toward a resolution. 4. Goal Another key feature of any successful story is a goal that drives your main character throughout their journey whether through adversity, testing relationships, accepting chances to reach that goal or rebuild from mistakes. Goals should be realistic yet unpredictable; something bold enough for readers to strive for together with your characters as they travel on their epic quest and adventure towards it—victorious or not! 5. Obstacles Most great stories contain obstacles that challenge heroes, like tests near forgone conclusions about bravery & courage under duress by antagonists; physical (and metaphorical) barriers representing those moments faced by real people striving towards something greater than themselves—both internally & externally reflective of who they are becoming vs who they were at the start of your novel's journey… obsticles add tension & anticipation your protagonists will have faced throughout their tribulation each wotstep of discovery unfolding along an age-old path told countless times through stories before it - still unlike anything else every other hero has faced! 6. Events Events shape our view on life while creating resolutions necessary so heroes can complete their mission after facing obstacles big & small along whatever heroic journey they embark on - no matter if it leads them into glorious triumphs & grand achievements which seemed so insurmountable insurmountable during dire struggles only moments ago! Events stand tall even though details vary across mediums - Television/Movies/Novels etc as each second counts within every scene playing out necessary climatic scenes understood only experienced differently dependent upon resonance between two viewers engrossed completely unaware another exists beyond this moment shared globally via storytelling from masterful writers channeling human emotions accurately depicted upon page words come alive cinematiclly vivid form powerful connections forming between strangers sealed indelibly ingrained new romantics inspired by true greatness accepted eagerly thrills audiences enthralled giving birth immortal tales forever etched well hearts given power this bond magical energies gifts humanity allows realizations unspoken prevail world closer ever hoped both liberated tightly bound futures shared brighter communal bonds formed existence lighter here we stay joyous peace.

Showing value includes delivering content that educates consumers, offers special discounts/promotions, explains why different price points exist, and so on. By doing this, you demonstrate that what you offer is something worthwhile and can help people accomplish their goals more quickly or easily 4. Speak Their Language Don’t use jargon and industry terminology to try and sound “smart”- instead, focus on creating content that resonates with your target audience by speaking directly to them in a conversational tone of voice They don’t care about technical terms or abbreviations; instead they need clear descriptions of what it is that you do/sell in order to understand its potential value in their life or business operations 5. Make sure customer experience is always top priority because how people remember interactions with companies speaks volumes about their perception of the brand itself . Follow Up It's important not to let leads slip through the cracks- be sure to follow up regularly via phone calls emails , text messages , etc This could involve sending materials such as brochures informational manuals videos relevant press releases etc all designed specifically around the person's interests preferences budget restrictions etc Doing this ensures everyone gets individually targeted material meaning more chances of closing deals successfully!

  • Business stories feature a hero, an obstacle, struggles to overcome the obstacle

Every successful business story follows the same classic narrative structure: a hero, an obstacle, struggles to overcome the obstacle and a concluding lesson. This structure is often referred to as “the hero’s journey” and it can be used as a powerful tool for telling your own business stories. Identify Your Hero The first thing you need to do when crafting your business story is identify your hero. Who is the protagonist in your story? Who will be fighting against the obstacles and struggling to reach their goal? Is this character a customer, an employee, or someone else entirely? Don’t forget that your hero doesn’t have to be human! It could also be an organization or product that serves as the protagonist of your story. Present an Obstacle Once you’ve identified who is going on this ‘journey’, you can start thinking about what challenge or obstacle they must face in order to reach their desired outcome. This obstacle should be daunting enough to make it interesting but not so difficult as to become insurmountable. What problem does your hero need to solve in order for them succeed? Depict Your Hero's Struggle At this point, you get into the nitty gritty details of how your hero overcomes their obstacle. All good stories require convincing characters and believable stakes — so make sure that you set up clear motivations and ideals for those involved in the struggle by fleshing out the details of each scene with vivid descriptions and realistic dialogue. Keep track of time too; readers will appreciate being able to follow along with events in chronological order rather than hearing something akin to “and then he did this… somehow… randomly…" Provide a Meaningful Conclusion Finally, make sure that your conclusion is satisfying and meaningful. Nothing kills a good narrative faster than a weak ending; if we invested time into reading (or listening!) all throughout this story, we also want something worthwhile at the end! The modern consumer looks for value even beyond entertainment – make sure that comes across crystal clear from your resolution. Although all successful stories may follow similar templates, there really isn't any one definitive formula for creating great business stories; use these elements as guides, but feel free express yourself creatively during each step too! As long as there's solid structure behind it all and readers comprehend its intended message – whatever that may be – then you're well on our way towards making impactful business stories!

  • Stories create trust by building relationships based on shared human experiences.

  • Learn How to Develop Your Professional Brand on Social Media for Beginners.

In this day and age, having a personal brand is invaluable. Developing a strong personal brand on social media can give you the right visibility to build credibility, generate leads, promote products or services, network with like-minded people, and increase overall career opportunities. Here are tips for building your personal brand on social media for beginners. Focus on Your Niche For starters, it’s important to define the type of content you’d like to present on your social media accounts and identify the specific niche that resonates with you. Identifying your niche will also help inform what platforms are best for you and where you should focus your time when posting content. Gain Expertise in Your Field People are drawn to individuals who have expertise in their field and can offer advice that others cannot provide simply by virtue of their previous experiences. Whether you gain expertise through years of work experience in a particular industry or through formal education, it’s important to be able to demonstrate an expert level of knowledge if you want to become influential in the space. Be Authentic The most successful trends today involve genuine authenticity rather than vanity metrics or fake followers. When crafting your message and identity online, consider how someone discovering your profile would think about what they were seeing - make sure it's reflective of who you truly are as an individual. Embrace what makes you unique by sharing information that goes beyond a job description such as hobbies, interests and any side projects that illustrate the many layers of yourself . Create Quality Content Quality over quantity is key here – put out high-quality content that speaks directly to your audience. This might mean engaging videos or podcasts about industry topics or creating helpful blog posts with creative visuals for more clicks and views. Whatever platform fits into your brand strategy should be utilized effectively by prioritizing quality over quantity when creating new posts . Engage With Relevant Influencers To grow faster on social media channels it could be beneficial to engage with influencers relevant to your own niche who have established communities of dedicated followers loyal to them already - especially at first before expanding into larger networks & organizations further along in the development cycle of your branding efforts. This could be accomplished by sharing their content or liking/commenting on their posts when applicable so that they notice & may reach out if they find value in the partnership potential between yourselves & them both organically & monetarily too . Work With Brands That Fit Into Your Brand Identity When looking for sponsorships or working with brands related (but not necessarily identical) to yours this could add value & diversify incoming offers/revenue streams available – not only monetarily but also elevating longterm prospects substantially once solid relationships with these big names are built up slowly through authentic interactions both ways respectively without overselling which rarely works well either unfortunately .

  • How Can Small Business Owners Address The Growing Trend of Quiet Resigning?

The quiet quitting trend refers to the a growing phenomenon in which employees choose not to formally announce their intention to resign. In this article, we’ll provide readers with insight into the world of silent resignations and describe ways for small business owners to manage them. Understand What Causes The Quiet Quitting Trend The first step to managing the “quiet quitting” trend is to understand what drives it. In many cases, employees have already accepted an offer from a new employer before they actually contact their current employer and inform them of their plans. This type of behavior might be driven by fear of retribution or disapproval - either from their bosses or co-workers - if they make an open announcement about job searching or leaving. Other causes may include a fear of conflict and not wanting to risk alienating important personal relationships at work. Be Ready To Spot It One way that small business owners can prepare themselves for the quiet quitting trend is to be on guard for it. While it isn't always possible to predict when an employee will quietly resign, there are some signs you can watch out for such as sudden changes in behaviour, a decrease in overall performance, and gaining greater job satisfaction elsewhere – all could signal an impending departure. Show Employees That Unsocial Resignation Is Not Acceptable By establishing guidelines and making it clear that unsocial resignation is unacceptable in your organisations culture this discourages employees from engaging in such behavior, allowing employers time enough time within reasonable limits given reasonable notice (written & verbal), from any prospective departure within the workplace. Even though many employees stay until after the closing date listed on their contracts sometimes due to pay structures based on milestones or other obligations, businesses need a reasonable amount of notice when one employee leaves so it that no abrupt gaps are left behind when replacements need expected hire into positions quickly! Create A Culture Of Open Communication Finally, small business owners should strive towards creating an open-communication culture between managers and staff members where there are no negative repercussions or judgement associated with discussing one's career goals/planning leading up till retirement as well as potential job aspirations outside of your organisation boundaries - so if any individual decides its time for them move DIGNIFYINGLY - everyone involved behind prepared both mentally & professionally!

  • Kaur Reinjärv, Founder at GoGoNano

Great Companies: How did you get your idea or concept for the business? Kaur Reinjärv: The inception of GoGoNano stems from a deeply rooted passion for sustainability, nanotechnology, fashion, and the natural world. The company was founded in 2013 and brought its first solution to market in 2014. Our mission is to contribute to the preservation of the environment by offering eco-friendly solutions that address the challenges posed by our disposable culture. GoGoNano addresses this issue by empowering individuals to protect and extend the life of their possessions. Our innovative products eliminate the need for frequent replacement of goods, reducing overproduction, wasteful pollution, and ultimately, mitigating the negative impact on the environment. Secondly, our products are made with eco-friendly ingredients that are safe for both the user and the environment. We believe that it's possible to have high-quality products that are sustainable, and we are committed to delivering on that promise. Finally, GoGoNano is dedicated to education and empowering customers with knowledge about how to take care of their belongings in a more sustainable way. This is why we have a blog where we share tips and information about how to keep items clean, protected, and looking their best for longer. In conclusion, GoGoNano is more than just a business, it's a movement dedicated to promoting sustainability, environmental protection, and a better way of life. We believe that by working together and smarter, we can create a brighter future for ourselves, our children, and the planet. Great Companies: What are the various services provided by GoGoNano Kaur Reinjärv: Digital Trade Solutions OÜ operates under the brand GoGoNano, specializing in a range of water and stain proofing, as well as cleaning solutions. Our company is dedicated to developing environmentally friendly solutions utilizing nanotechnology to protect, preserve, and clean various materials. We prioritize the use of eco-friendly ingredients in all of our coatings and conduct rigorous testing to ensure their safety for our customers. Additionally, we maintain a highly informative blog where we educate our customers on the proper care and maintenance of their belongings, both in their homes and offices. Our solutions are easily accessible to all through our online retail platform. Great Companies: What makes GoGoNano different from hundreds of other similar service providers? Kaur Reinjärv: In our product development process, sustainability is a top priority and we strive to make our products as environmentally friendly as possible. Our coatings are biodegradable and pose no harm to the users or the environment. Our focus on sustainability has led to innovative solutions that reduce the amount of waste sent to landfills and the use of harmful chemicals in households. With the advancements in nanotechnology, we are able to enhance the longevity and cleanliness of products without the need for harsh chemicals. The main ingredient in our protectors is a silicon/silica polymer, derived from quartz, which is processed to create a hydrophobic polymer. This ultra-thin but strong and durable layer provides hydrophobic and stain-resistant properties. The active ingredient is safe and non-toxic, and the ingredients are derived from an abundant mineral that is known to degrade within 20-30 years. The co-solvent used is derived from natural fermentation and is added in small quantities, making it classified as a non-dangerous good. The solvents improve wetting, drying time, and application, especially on non-absorbent surfaces. Great Companies: What were the struggles and challenges you faced and how did you overcome them? Kaur Reinjärv: One of the primary challenges encountered in building my business was effectively managing my time and resources. Initially, I had to handle various responsibilities, including bookkeeping, project management, web design and development, and marketing, all while operating on a limited budget. To overcome this challenge, I implemented a time blocking strategy, dedicating specific days to carry out each role and task. I invested a significant amount of time and effort in acquiring new skills related to marketing and business operations. As the business has grown, I have been able to delegate certain responsibilities to team members, allowing me to focus on my core strength, which is developing innovative and high-value solutions for our customers. I am eager for the opportunity to collaborate with a marketing manager in the future and entrust them with the responsibility of overseeing all marketing efforts for GoGoNano. Great Companies: How do you plan to grow in the future? What does 5 years down the line look like for GoGoNano? Kaur Reinjärv: GoGoNano is a dynamic and innovative business with a bold vision to become the premier eco-friendly nano coating manufacturer globally. Our aim is to educate individuals on sustainable methods for cleaning and protecting their belongings, enabling them to extend the lifespan of their possessions and enjoy more leisure time, while reducing cleaning time by 90%. Over the next five years, we plan to expand our operations into new markets, including the United States, Canada, Australia, and across Europe, while maintaining our current growth trajectory in Estonia. Our goal is to increase revenue ten-fold within this time frame, requiring accelerated expansion efforts both domestically and abroad. Our company is already generating profits, and we are committed to maintaining this growth trajectory through hard work and perseverance. We have a pipeline of new solutions in development, and our commitment to sustainable and innovative practices will ensure continued success. In addition to driving business growth, we are dedicated to supporting local communities through job creation in the field of nanotechnology. Our efforts are aimed at promoting sustainability and innovation for the benefit of future generations. Great Companies: If you had one piece of advice to someone just starting out, what would it be? Kaur Reinjärv: To succeed in business, it is crucial to exhibit tenacity and perseverance. If you have a unique idea or solution and are driven by passion and conviction, it is essential not to lose sight of your goal, even when faced with obstacles and challenges. Along the entrepreneurial journey, there will likely be individuals who doubt or discredit your vision, and there may be times when progress seems slow or stagnant. However, it is vital to maintain a customer-centric focus, as this will help you stay motivated and steadfast in your endeavors. With persistence and determination, eventual success will be within reach.
