  • Vikas Kapoor, Founder at Vdezine

Great Companies: How did you get your idea or concept for the business? Vikas Kapoor: Since I was working in Web/UI Designing since long (almost 12yrs.), I decided to venture into my own space. I wanted to be my own boss, do creative work as per my choice, wanted to serve more clients than I could in my job and hence I started Vdezine in June 2011. Great Companies: What are the various Services provided by Vdezine Vikas Kapoor: We work in Static websites, Wordpress based websites, Web Applications, Native and Hybrid Mobile Apps, e-Commerce websites. Great Companies: What makes Vdezine different from hundreds of other similar service providers? Vikas Kapoor: 1.Economical and budget friendly. 2.Very honest and transparent way of working with each client. 3.We educate the customer in layman terms, DO NOT show that we are building rockets and make them understand the basics of what we will do. We guide our customers in a transparent manner, what is right for them, their project and how can we do value addition which no one else will do. 4.Very high quality of deliverables which are properly tested and then delivered to clients 5.Creative and professionally done websites, UI designs. 6.Indian rates and International standards of working. 7.Fast and effective way of communication, mostly responsive to client’s questions/issues in a very fast turnaround time. 8.Highly ethical way of doing business. Great Companies: What are the struggles and challenges you face? Vikas Kapoor: Struggles: Nothing much in the current scenario as we work to keep our plates full every time of the year. Challenges: Sometimes bigger companies or Foreign businesses do have a fear factor to outsource work to Freelancers like me as they feel that single person companies aren’t reliable and won’t deliver OR will run away without completing the job. Instead, through your medium, I would like to mention here that the so called “Agencies/Small, Mid-sized software companies” also have their own ways of showing delay tactics and clients have bad experiences there too. So give Vdezine a chance and see how well we deliver. If we won’t have the capability, we won’t give you a nice Sales pitch, bring you in and then won’t deliver, rather we will take ONLY if we can deliver and that’s what we believe in. Our customer’s project is our Baby and we handle it with utmost priority. Great Companies: How do you plan to grow in the future? What does 5 years down the line look like for Vdezine? Vikas Kapoor: Indian market is being handled quite efficiently by us in a manner we can. We want to grow more in Foreign locations: Canada, Middle East, APAC etc. US is a mature market and there are thousands of vendors already present everywhere to target US. Nevertheless, we can create a disruption there too, due to our cost vs. quality benefits. However, we want to create an effective Sales team in all such locations and pitch to SMEs in these countries to make clients benefit from our services. Even in past 3yrs., including 2 Corona years, we have gained at least 15 new clients in foreign locations and we hope we make it even bigger with things opening up everywhere. So, any interested Sales Freelancers who want to grow and earn a decent additional income, can get in touch with us to seek opportunities. We definitely want to grow 10x in next 5yrs. through sales in foreign locations. Great Companies: If you had one piece of advice to someone just starting out, what would it be? Vikas Kapoor: Work and clients are abundant in market. There is no dearth of projects. Give 100% of your commitment (which unfortunately is lacking these days in startups), do a good job and see how you get repeat business. I have hundreds of case studies to share, where people have shown faith in us only due to our high level of commitment and delivery mechanism towards their projects. People are ready to give money if you are ready to deliver what they want.

  • Pranay Khajuriya, National Coordinator at Colored Glasses On

Great Companies: How did you get your idea or concept for the business? Pranay Khajuriya: Colored Glasses On is the brainchild of Five enigmatic People Ravi Shankar, Dev Khajuriya, Yash Mehra, Vinay Kumar, and Myself Pranay Khajuriya. We met across the premise of a film school where we revisited the works of master filmmakers like Satyajit Ray, Mani Kaul, and Kamal Swaroop. The invigorating passion to create films like these people and hopefully best them someday was our goal. I hope they would not mind me saying this!! Our aim is to present the world with a different outlook to make films that offer a unique vision to the viewers. Our conceptions lie around surrealism, neo-realism, postmodernism, expressionism, and impressionism. It is important for art lovers and audiences to appreciate art that is unique and encompassing. Only when you appreciate the old you can transcend towards the new. All this brought together coined the term “Colored Glasses On” which means perceiving the world with a unique outlook. So, we say “Your Dreams, Our Colors”. Great Companies: What are the various Services provided by Colored Glasses On Pranay Khajuriya: We cover all aspects of Film making from Pre- Production, Production to Post-production. Our skilled personnel provide you with a one-stop-shop for all aspects of filmmaking and Videography. We have Filmmakers, Screenwriters, Cinematographers, Editors, Di Colorists, and VFX artists. As we know most of the visuals in a movie are defined by the sound incorporated in it. For that matter, we have a Music Studio as well with skilled sound engineers for sound design, Foley, music composition, song-writing, and Sync sound. Further, we deal in Creative Photography and Graphic Design as Well. A major part of Filmmaking is distribution. Some Great films have been undermined due to this particular aspect. The Creation part of the film is so cumbersome that while coming to distribution the efforts are exhausted especially for independent filmmakers. To resolve this, we have in-house celebrities and influencers base of about 10,000 people to promote and project a piece of work. From Script to Screen we cover it all. Great Companies: What makes Colored Glasses On different from hundreds of other similar service providers? Pranay Khajuriya: As I have mentioned earlier, we cover all aspects of Filmmaking from Production to distribution. When it comes to film studios in India either they will cover one of these aspects. Promotional Campaigns are designed and targeted by different companies in general other than the production one despite some major names like Yash Raj and Dharma Productions. When it comes to Delhi NCR which has become a major hub for filmmakers recently there is no entity as such. With the enormous Film city being created in Noida and the burgeoning demands of the audiences with the rise in OTT platforms we can be a medium of creation and projection all in one place. Moreover, Films are either Commercial or Artistic there are no in-betweens. We thrive on this aim to commercialize artistic content. Great Companies: What are the struggles and challenges you face? Pranay Khajuriya: The French Film Theorist Christian Metz Said “Film is difficult to explain because it is easy to understand”. The statement has echoed through the ages even more in the current age. Audiences and clients can disparage a piece of work in seconds as the film is such a widely exposited medium and everybody is there to comment on your work. Studios and independent filmmakers will always be bothered by such notions of people about films. All you got to do is to keep making films which you will love. If you can love it everybody else will. Secondly, videography is saturated to an extent and clients sometimes take a lot of time to differentiate between a Videographer and a cinematographer. They still believe why we should hire someone when we can shoot with our mobile phones!! Only your work can speak at these particular moments. Great Companies: How do you plan to grow in the future? What does 5 years down the line look like for Colored Glasses On? Pranay Khajuriya: Well, this will follow up with our Acronym for the brand – CGON. C – Creative – We aim for an acclaimed body of work that is creative and has commercial value as well. With International recognition through film festivals circuits and OTT platforms. Secondly, with every new project, we will aim for different genres and different character tropes. I think five features and one or two web series are not too much to ask! (laughs). G – Goodwill – To build lasting relationships with clients and industry experts. Five years down the line we would target at least 50 permanent clients and 100 potential customers. The film is a collaborative medium and with relations, nothing can be conceived in this industry. We will prioritize this equally to our creativity benchmarks. O – Originality – In General filmmakers while planning to work on a film revisit the works of master filmmakers to base their work. It is how all the greats work from Steven Spielberg to Sam Mendes. But there is still a lot more to this medium than is understood after all it’s only a hundred years old. We will respect the masters of cinema but keep on looking for new aesthetical and technical means to make a film or project an idea on the screen. Hopefully, we will invent something like the bullet effect of the Matrix. N - No Excuses – As basic as it is we will always thrive on discipline and passion. As Steven Spielberg said in an interview “You can shoot a film with a phone and post it on YouTube and not worry about the cost of an 8 mm camera’s Film strip”. We will try to create the best visual and auditory elements given the constraints and resources for the clients and the audience. Great Companies: If you had one piece of advice for someone just starting out, what would it be? Pranay Khajuriya: Shoot! Shoot! Shoot! That’s one piece of advice you can give to budding filmmakers. Despite that indulge more in the pre-production stage of the filmmaking process. Filmmakers assign most of their time in production or actual shooting than in the pre-production stage. This results in poor outcomes and more costs. Plan your budgets, schedules; call sheets, props, and locations in advance months before the actual shoot so that if any anomaly arises one can cope with it. There are so many elements involved in video production that with my given experience no day will be the same as you expected you have to redefine yourselves at the very moment for that it is quite important that everything is planned beforehand. Plus understand the distribution aspects of filmmaking as well which we undermine most often. Challenge yourself with not just new things but things that your artistic conscience does not prefer or acknowledge. Many budding filmmakers try and make things just to project their artistic vision. They forget the commercial and business aspects of it. As Nagraj Manjule said, “ It should be my medicine in your bottle” when it comes to a feature film presentation. Make films write stories that have never been told before but write them for a universal audience. A film that could cross barriers of territories and languages.

Ganesh Kudale: Only one thing I would like to say and that is, we work with our clients rather than giving solutions only. in market lots of business consultant working right now but some are providing training, some are providing one to one guidance to owner (consultation), some are doing only drafting work like HR documents, Reporting formats etc but no one helps in Implementation at work place. We, The Virtue Solutions understand client’s need, design strategy based on particular industry and owner’s mindset, and then implement it at workplace and face all the challenge with entrepreneur to get best output from strategy planned. Most of entrepreneurs just want to know about consulting, they just want to enhance their knowledge, these kinds of clients are harmful for themselves and for us as well. Another big challenge is to enlarge the team and retention. Great Companies: How do you plan to grow in the future? What does 5 years down the line look like for The Virtue Solutions? Ganesh Kudale: In business, direction is most important than speed so set your goals first and keep working on it, success will be yours.

  • Anant Jain, Co-Founder at Creole Studios

Great Companies: How did you get your idea or concept for the business? Ever since college in 2006, I was intrigued by the idea of generating employment. But at that time I did not have any solid idea/experience to pursue my inner calling. It was only when I started working in the IT Services domain, did I understand the true power of software applications. I saw the first-hand impact of software on businesses and was amazed at how it can increase productivity and the bottom line. This experience reinforced my belief in software services. I was by then 100% sure about software services and knew that it is an evergreen domain, its demand would only grow over time. By 2013, at the age of 25, I had made up my mind to try entrepreneurship in the software services field and satisfy my inner calling. I finally took a leap of faith in April 2014. Great Companies: What are the various Services provided by Creole Studios We are a software studio that specializes UI/UX Design Web App Development Mobile App Development Cloud App Development. We have been dealing only with open source technologies and I believe it is the most suitable approach for our client audience (small to medium scale) businesses. Coming to the business execution part, we have always been very transparent about our expertise & deliverables. We only promise what we can achieve. We actually say NO to the business if we do not have the bandwidth in our team and also if project requirements do not match our skill set. We believe in charging a premium for quality delivery rather than mass project execution. Great Companies: What are the struggles and challenges you face? • Modern Workplaces - Smart Virtual Company Celebrates Annual Day In Goa

The year 2020 saw the whole world change completely. What seemed to start as a localized virus outbreak in China, soon burst into a full-fledged pandemic covering the whole world. No country was left unaffected – including ours. Within a few months, the whole country shutdown completely. All business and organizations, both large and small, were left with little choice but to operate in a fully remote fashion. This new normal, of full and permanent work from home, seemed to become the new way that most organizations operate, especially in the information technology domain. AAPNA Infotech, with its headquarters in the national capital Delhi, and presence across the US and Australia, did not remain unaffected. With a headcount of about 70+ employees, majority of whom were based out of North India at the start of the pandemic, AAPNA had to quickly adapt to the sudden and massive changes forced by the fast-evolving Covid-19 situation in the country. When the pandemic began, AAPNA was growing steadily, with service offerings in enterprise software development on both Microsoft and Open-Source platforms catering to mortgage banking, finance, healthcare, and education domains. The company had also setup new teams across Mobility and IOT and was foraying into AI/ML by bringing on board fresh talent. As the pandemic dug in for the long haul, and it started to appear that it would be quite some time for things to go back to how they were earlier, AAPNA, quickly embarked on a strategy to counter the changes brought about. As a first, the organization adopted the model of “permanent work from home”. This essentially erased all geographical barriers for existing team members – as well as for future potential candidates. No longer was it necessary for AAPNAites to “physically” attend office – even in future – once things went back to the way they were before the virus struck. AAPNAites could work from their hometowns and be closer to their families like never earlier. The organization embarked on a flurry of employee engagement activities, such as Coffee Chit Chat Sessions, Wow Wednesday, Fundoo Friday, Chit Chat session with CEO, Fit to Fitness, Yoga session, Weekend Activities, Surprise gifts on birthdays and festivals, and many more. Combined with these, was launched a massive program, called IMPACT, to inculcate the values of a true commando – AAPNA’s USP. The program was launched for AAPNA Commandos to map, train, and evaluate themselves against the core tenets of a true commando. We successfully conducted sessions on the 6 attributes of IMPACT, a journey that will continue in the coming years. All these initiatives combined to offer a holistic balance between personal and professional well-being of the team members. AAPNA felt it was a natural step forward to get its culture certified on the “Great Place to Work™” standard, with a score of 88%. This has positioned us strongly to be rated among the top 100 Best Places to Work 2020 – 2021. The company also invested in streamlining its operations and process and got appraised at CMMi Level 3. The organization realizes that though virtual is the new way to be, it is still important for teams and team members to continue to meet each other, whenever the opportunity presents itself. Over these past two years, the company has constantly endeavoured to encourage physical meets amongst team members. As a culmination and continuation of this, AAPNA has planned a grand 2-day extravaganza in Goa, to celebrate its 15th Annual Day. The celebrations, spread across the last weekend of April 2022, will see AAPNAites from all parts of the country descend to this tourist haven, and enjoy a heady mix of corporate events and fun bundled together. As the whole of AAPNA eagerly awaits the “Magic in Goa” – which is how the Annual Day is being officially celebrated – it is but natural to be both cautious and hopeful at the same time. Cautious, for the pandemic is still ongoing, and a new variant or variants could dramatically change the present unlocking going all around. So, we need to still not let our guards down. Still, there is a lot of hope and optimism that we may be at the fag-end of last of the pandemic, and things will soon be much, much better. We at AAPNA believe, no matter how the next weeks and months unfold, we are strongly placed to continue our journey of being a “smart virtual company” – one which is a remarkable “modern workplace” in the fullest sense! • Anuraag Singh, Founder at SysTools Software

Great Companies: How did you get your idea or concept for the business? Anuraag Singh: I & My Business Partner Debasish Pramanik was passionate about Computer Technology from the very beginning. During our university days in Pune, we dreamed of building something that would have a significant impact on the lives of all computer users. As we progress along our path, we discover that Data Care software development has a vast market potential. This area of IT has always been in high demand. Our technologies became useful solutions to convert, recover, restore, and backup any sort of data at a period when data was emerging as a new investment. The idea for SysTools Software was born at the moment we understood the user requirement. Great Companies: What are the various Services provided by SysTools Software? Anuraag Singh: SysTools is a Digital Technology company providing professional data recovery, digital forensics, email/server data management and cloud migration solutions. Our most valuable competence is digital forensics investigation services, which we provide to India's prestigious investigation agencies such as the CBI, Delhi Police Cyber Cell, Enforcement, Income Tax, Revenue Intelligence, Competition Commission, and others. We assist investigative authorities with anything from forensic examination of digital data to carving out evidence from any storage device. Great Companies: What makes SysTools Software different from hundreds of other similar service providers? Anuraag Singh: SysTools is the only Make in India Company to develop software application for Digital Forensics practices. While all other service providers in India rely on foreign-made software and procedures, SysTools stands out with 250+ in-house software solutions that can handle any type of data. We stand out from the competition because of our uncompromising quality and fundamental skill in dealing with data. MailXaminer from SysTools is the first ever Indian made Email Forensics Software which proved as great help in investigating Email messages involved in executing Cyber Crimes. Great Companies: What are the struggles and challenges you face? Anuraag Singh: In terms of business, one of the most difficult challenges we face is persuading people and decision-makers in our country to start investing in Indian software products. Why not us; when we are capable of providing reliable, better, and affordable data processing solutions of any kind? The task is to highlight this issue and push hard enough to earn the right to lead any projects in our domain of expertise. If we look into the technical front, when working with confidential information, we face numerous challenges. While modern data wiping techniques and data encryption create hurdles during evidence investigation, the most significant challenge is the time limitation in processing massive amounts of data. We are addressing these issues in both business and process models. With the current trends and favorable policies developed by the Indian government, we are optimistic that we will succeed sooner rather than later. Great Companies: How do you plan to grow in the future? What does 5 years down the line look like for SysTools Software? Anuraag Singh: I am a great believer in "never settling for less than your best." As a result, in our quest to be the best, we will continue to innovate and focus on our mission to simplify technology in the future also. Technology is evolving at a quicker rate than ever before, so it's not a question of whether we'll be able to adapt to the changing industry in five years, but rather of how well we will be able to give the best at the right time. We forecast a day, when SysTools Software would be the most trusted name in data investigation by our national agencies, whether it's for service, software, or support. Great Companies: If you had one piece of advice to someone just starting out, what would it be? Anuraag Singh: There should be an impact of what you propose. Do not simply repeat what others have done. Bring something that tackles a current issue and has the potential to modify the way the issue has been handled previously. Make the most of your energy and time to make the world a better place. Start small, but be sure to leave an influence that will provide you confidence to accomplish more, make more & grow more. • Atul Srivastava, Founder at Smart Cricket Global Ltd

Great Companies: How did you get your idea or concept for the business? Atul Srivastava: I have spent the last 16 years navigating the business side of Cricket, from player management to merchandising, licensing and league formation I have done it all. I remember that my son would go to Cricket Coaching and every day I would ask him how he had done and the answer was always the same- I bowled and batted and did fielding drills, that got me thinking, for parents and players themselves nothing was showing them exactly how they were improving, That’s how the idea for Smart Cricket came about. With BatSense our first product batters can get measurable data through the state of the art technology ensuring they have the tools to make tangible improvements in their game. Great Companies: What are the various services provided by Smart Cricket Global Ltd Atul Srivastava: Smart Cricket Global Ltd is the first company to bring the latest in motion capture technology to the real game arena for cricket, we are in the sphere of innovating and creating technology to help further the game. We also provide broadcast solutions to the world’s best networks, helping fans worldwide gain a new experience in sports through batting insights and data displayed on the screens for the first time. Smart Cricket is building a data-driven ecosystem that will create a connected community of smart players, bringing fans closer to the game, and redefining the way sport is played, watched, followed and analysed. BatSense is supported by the Smart Cricket app which helps in simplifying the data measured by the sensor. Through the app, we are also creating a community for Cricket and cricket lovers who can use this as a platform to not only better their game but also to get updates on the latest in the sport and connect with other fans, coaches and players. We currently have 100k+ downloads and 10,000 daily users growing at a remarkable pace. Proving that data, technology and sport can find great synergy, we plan to be present in all cricket playing nations in addition to replicating the model for every swing based sport like Golf, Hockey Boxing and more. Great Companies: What makes Smart Cricket Global Ltd different from hundreds of other similar service providers? Atul Srivastava: What makes us stand apart from our competitors is that being the first to create this technology we have been able to fine-tune it to perfection, we are the only company that has seen its product used by the best players in the world, in some of the most prestigious competitions in cricket like the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy and others, this is a testament to our technology and the accuracy of it. Furthermore, as a company, we ensure that we are constantly innovating and ideating on how to make the integration between sports and technology seamless. Great Companies: What are the struggles and challenges you face? Atul Srivastava: It is always a struggle to fund any innovation. An idea to business needs research which is time-consuming and expensive, then from here to prototype stage is again time and capital intensive because it requires a lot of R&D. Once you make a prototype, from here to production-ready prototype again has to go through many iterations and therefore it requires an influx of capital. Since I was funding all the above myself it was a real struggle to keep pushing myself and the resources I had in hand. Luckily the entire sports community responded to my innovation in a very positive way therefore I was able to sustain and also got 2 more friends to invest in the idea Great Companies: How do you plan to grow in the future? What do 5 years down the line look like for Smart Cricket Global Ltd? Atul Srivastava: : Proving that data, technology and sport can find great synergy, we plan to be present in all cricket playing nations in addition to replicating the model for every swing based sport like Golf, Hockey Boxing and more. Having successfully built a solution for Cricket we are keen to replicate the same Motion sensing expertise across sports. We have already formed Smart Sports which means that all other sports equipment will also become Smart. Smart Sports will focus on Football, Boxing, Golf, Baseball, Badminton, Tennis etc eventually the biomechanics of a cricket swing can be compared to a Baseball swing with greater precision leading to better load management, injury management, recovery and skill. The possibilities of engaging technology with the sport are endless and we want to be recognised as pioneers in this aspect. Through Smart Sports all other sports equipment are in the pipeline, we aim to replicate the successful model across sports with prototypes in Golf, Hockey and Boxing. BatSense is just a start, BallSense, ShoeSense, HelmetSense, GloveSense, PadSense are just a few months away. The world is integrating more and more with technology. Even sports that have always relied on Human Achievements have seen how technology can boost and benefit players, coaches, and broadcast. We want to make the gold standard of data and technology accessible to every player and every sport, that is our dream and we are well on the way to making it happen. Great Companies: If you had one piece of advice to someone just starting out, what would it be? Atul Srivastava: My piece of advice will be, don't put all the resources you have in one go. Invest 30/40 per cent and then wait for external funding. Game changing innovations need lot of money to reach the final consumer and it takes time for a non-existing market to build. I played it really bold, anyone new should learn from this experience of mine. Website : https://smartcricket.com/ Social Media : Facebook | Twitter | Instagram | YouTube | LinkedIn

  • M V Sasidhar, Founder at Urvogelbio Private Ltd

Great Companies: How did you get your idea or concept for the business? M V Sasidhar: Inflammatory CNS diseases, specifically Alzheimer's disease (AD), are a global crisis and the fifth leading cause of death worldwide. AD progresses gradually, but patients inevitably lose their memory, ability to think, plan, and even recognise those close to them, leading to disability. According to the WHO World Report, AD and other dementias are projected to increase by 66% between 2005 and 2030. Disease pathology starts 10 to 15 years before clinical dementia. There are 4.5 million dementia patients in India and a conservative estimate, according to ARDSI, quotes that only 10% of Dementia patients are diagnosed, and the majority of the patients go undiagnosed. It is projected that the geriatric population would reach 14.5% by 2050 from 5.5% on the date. The major problem in identification is the lack of accessible biomarkers and the stigma associated with these diseases. We have developed a technology that can be used in the non-invasive diagnosis of various dementias. It would function as a pre-screener at memory clinics and for inclusion in clinical trials. The lack of an easy biomarker system for dementias and neuronal disease management prompted us to develop this technology. The exosome platform technology would revolutionise the way neurological diseases would be managed. Great Companies: What are the various Services provided by Urvogelbio Private Ltd M V Sasidhar: The technology platform we have developed is useful for patients, doctors and pharma companies. Following are the primary services provided • Noninvasive diagnostics - Prognosis, diagnosis, patient monitoring, therapy monitoring of Dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, and Multiple Sclerosis patients. • Genetic tests for Dementia and Alzheimer’s disease include ApoE, Tomm40, PSEN1 and PSEN2. • Our platform technology can provide access to complete molecular information from biofluids and bypass the need for tissues for diagnostics. • Biotech and Pharma companies can leverage our neuronal exosome platform to enhance their R&D process from biomarker discovery through validation and development of diagnostics, companion diagnostics, etc. • Biomarker discovery – We partner with various research organisations in their biomarker discovery and development programs. • Clinical trials management – We reduce costs associated with clinical trials with various assay systems using our unique exosome platform • Development of circulatory biomarker assay systems for unique needs • Developing assays for target-drug engagement will lead to a cheaper, easier, and more reliable clinical output of drug-target interaction. • Easier patient stratification in various clinical trials • Companion diagnostic (information essential for safe use of the corresponding drug) development – We work with pharma companies to develop companion diagnostics for their therapeutics. Great Companies: What makes Urvogelbio Private Ltd different from hundreds of other similar service providers? M V Sasidhar: Urvogelbio is in the business of developing non-invasive biomarkers for neuronal diseases. Most of the biomarkers for Dementia and other neurodegenerative disorders are primarily based on measuring terminal biomarkers, i.e. psychological monitoring, brain imaging using MRI etc. The above biomarkers are suboptimal and incapable of easy and early diagnosis of the diseases. Our innovation will be able to quantify brain released factors non-invasively and complement the information with other blood-based analytes leading to a multi-analyte biomarker panel with increased sensitivity and specificity. Complex neuronal diseases need a multi-analyte biomarker technology which is the unique aspect embedded in our technology. We are associating ourselves with various academics and hospitals to reach our goals. The most important USP is our incubation in a hospital incubator, i.e. Apollo Hospitals Educational and Research Foundation, which has provided us access to patient samples, clinical expertise and incubational support for our start-up. Great Companies: What are the struggles and challenges you face? M V Sasidhar: There are very few options available for easy, non-invasive diagnosis of neuronal diseases and the development of these diagnostics is capital intense. Access to capital is the most challenging part. A life-science start-up that typically has increased incubation periods before we can arrive at a viable product. We were lucky to raise initial seed money through grants from the Biotechnology Industrial research assistance council (BIRAC) and seed funding from the dlabs incubator. With great difficulty, we could develop a minimum viable product and are currently completing the clinical validation of the diagnostic panels. The next phase is the clinical trials, where we would need access to patient samples, regulatory support, capital and logistics support which are typical bottlenecks of medical start-ups. Great Companies: How do you plan to grow in the future? What do five years down the line look like for Urvogelbio Private Ltd? M V Sasidhar: Implementation of blood-based biomarkers is the holy grail in managing neuronal diseases. We are aiming to contribute to this goal. We worked out a patent-pending platform technology based on exosomes to reach this goal. Exosomes are nanoparticles derived from blood and have diagnostic, therapeutic and drug-delivery applications. These nanoparticles help communicate between cells, almost synonymous to chat messages in chat boxes. We intercept this chatter in the exosomes and decode the information in these exosomes to arrive at an utterly non-invasive diagnosis in real-time. We started our journey by establishing brain pathologies in Dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson's disease, Multiple Sclerosis, which will be extended to other conditions, i.e. Autism, Traumatic brain injury, stroke cancers and other pathological complications. We are gearing up to use the exosomes as cell-free therapeutics and drug delivery vehicles. Thus, we envision a fully grown biotech company growing accommodating innovations to change how diagnosis and therapeutics are incorporated to manage neurological complications. With 145 clinical trials in different phases for dementias, disease-modifying drugs will be a; our test panels would also screen patients early so that early treatment options would be available for dementia patients to alter their disease trajectory. Great Companies: If you had one piece of advice to someone just starting out, what would it be? M V Sasidhar: I would take the liberty of extending the piece to a few cents. These are essential skill sets one should cultivate before embarking on a start-up; Defining the purpose right, access to the network (scientific, business, marketing etc.), Planning the finances right, focusing on customers and sales right from day one. • Aurobinda Panda, Founder at Lex Protector LLP

Great Companies: How did you get your idea or concept for the business? Aurobinda Panda: Having specialization in Intellectual property at a very early stage of college life, I always wanted to do something in the field of intellectual property. We saw the problem of business entities not being completely aware about the kind of new product/services they are creating everyday. That gave us an idea about making people aware about what intellectual property is and how it can benefit them in upcoming years. Also, intellectual property being territorial in nature, business entities usually don’t have any idea about where exactly they should file for their intellectual property. So, we decided to make businesses aware about Intellectual property and the rest of it followed. Great Companies: What are the various Services provided by Lex Protector LLP Aurobinda Panda: We are an one stop solution for any type of Intellectual property needs for business entities. As our tagline suggests, we start with identifying/creating the kind of IP in our services such as IP Audit, then we assist in making sure the said Intellectual property is new in our services like Trademark, Patent , violation searches. Once we are sure about the newness of the said intellectual property, we then suggest about filing for registration in suitable countries. Hence protecting it. Once the Intellectual property is registered, then we continue helping our clients in our services of IP management in the way of utilizing and maximizing it. Great Companies: What makes Lex Protector LLP different from hundreds of other similar service providers? We never look at any of the similar service providers as our competitors but more as collaborates. Great Companies: What are the struggles and challenges you face? Aurobinda Panda: Since it is not mandatory to go for any IP registration, one problem which we face is business entities don’t take their Intellectual properties seriously. Hence, it is one of our mission to reach out to as many people as possible to and educate about data security and importance of any kind of creation. Great Companies: How do you plan to grow in the future? What does 5 years down the line look like for Lex Protector LLP?
