Great Companies: How did you get your idea or concept for the business?
Aurobinda Panda: Having specialization in Intellectual property at a very early stage of college life, I always wanted to do something in the field of intellectual property. We saw the problem of business entities not being completely aware about the kind of new product/services they are creating everyday. That gave us an idea about making people aware about what intellectual property is and how it can benefit them in upcoming years. Also, intellectual property being territorial in nature, business entities usually don’t have any idea about where exactly they should file for their intellectual property. So, we decided to make businesses aware about Intellectual property and the rest of it followed.

Aurobinda Panda: We are an one stop solution for any type of Intellectual property needs for business entities. As our tagline suggests, we start with identifying/creating the kind of IP in our services such as IP Audit, then we assist in making sure the said Intellectual property is new in our services like Trademark, Patent , violation searches. Once we are sure about the newness of the said intellectual property, we then suggest about filing for registration in suitable countries. Hence protecting it. Once the Intellectual property is registered, then we continue helping our clients in our services of IP management in the way of utilizing and maximizing it.

We are a multidisciplinary law firm with branches in various countries like the US, Canada, Australia, UK and EU. With the presence in such countries we help business entities in protecting their Intellectual properties in multiple countries. We also help our clients in taking down any kind of infringing material from social media or other websites. We never look at any of the similar service providers as our competitors but more as collaborates.
Great Companies: What are the struggles and challenges you face?
Aurobinda Panda: Since it is not mandatory to go for any IP registration, one problem which we face is business entities don’t take their Intellectual properties seriously. Hence, it is one of our mission to reach out to as many people as possible to and educate about data security and importance of any kind of creation.
Great Companies: How do you plan to grow in the future? What does 5 years down the line look like for Lex Protector LLP?
Aurobinda Panda: We are looking more into our International office where we want to hire attorneys to work for us, Also we are looking to be a team of 100+ IP Associates from around the world to provide Intellectual Property service around the world.
Great Companies: If you had one piece of advice to someone just starting out, what would it be?
Aurobinda Panda: Make sure to protect your intellectual property as soon as you create them, as these assets valuations are more the the total physical assets valuations for many companies.
