Laxman Singh : Around 2017 while I was working as freelancer I realized that sometime people don’t pay for the work which you have already accomplished. Then came a thought about self-executed contracts which can actually solve the problems. Quickly I took the internet search and found that a blockchain is the technology which has true power to disrupt the trade industry using smart contracts. I was new to learn blockchain but it was something which I desperately looked for. Since then and within couple of months, I could say myself that I am self-taught blockchain developer & solution architect. Back then in 2017 it was difficult for people to understand what is blockchain and there were not enough substantial tech document to learn and grow. So, many of the times we hired unexperienced tech developers and invested to train them. Next challenge we faced about retaining the people in a small start-up. People come, get trained and leave. Great Companies: How do you plan to grow in the future? What does 5 years down the line look like for Lapits Technologies? Laxman Singh : 5 years down the line looks promising to the Lapits Technologies and the future of blockchain in India particularly. Blockchain can add upto $40bn to the Indian economy. Lapits with adding new services (smart contract security audits, DeFi development, etc) and launch of some exciting products (bitbatua - Cryptocurrency Payment Gateway, fundraiser - launchpad for fund raising, etc) on our roadmap for 5 years, projecting a business of 100cr. As per PwC report, blockchain technology will impact major sectors such as supply chain management, securitisation and payments, and identity protection applications, in the descending order of their impact. The market was extremely fragmented and there was a lot of pain that corporates in India had to go through to find a reliable supplier. A few years into the business we were already picking up some of the best contracts and clients and the rest as they say is history. Gaurav Bhagat: There have been challenges at different stages of the journey, in the early years it was access to capital and cash flows. In due course it became about finding the right people to carry us forward and keep up with the expected pace. We have worked really hard to preempt challenges and also address then when the red flags first come up. I think it helps that Gaurav, the founder is himself a sales and strategy coach and works with some of the most brilliant minds in the world. At the moment the challenges remain around scale, monitoring of remote teams and a few logistical hurdles that were brought upon by the pandemic. Nothing that can’t be handled. Great Companies: How do you plan to grow in the future? What does 5 years down the line look like for Consortium Gifts Pvt Ltd? Gaurav Bhagat: The future of Consortium Gifts is very bright indeed. We have some amazing clients and those contracts are now extending beyond India to becoming APAC wise contracts as well. Our vision is to become Asia’s largest corporate gifting company by 22nd Feb 2025 and to take Consortium Gifts to 7 countries and 13 cities and have 1000 happy employees. We have a very positive outlook and have been building systems, processes and teams to make this happen. Take a look at the industry you service and see what problems are faced and then see if you have a possible solution. Unfortunately, there was no such product through which kids can visualize most realistically.
