Challenges faced during the journey:
I started my firm with zero capital, building it to what it is now. I have served the largest clients in the industry bootstrapped and working lean. Each of my products has been a pioneer in the market. We started building it when there was no demand for it. We created monetization and created profitable firms. When we started building communities, the word Media-tech did not even exist, not even in Silicon Valley. When our product ranked highest on Alexa Internet ranking, ahead of US Gov Website and PayScale Website, I was invited by Silicon Valley giants to brainstorm the disruption. Our journey has been eventful, from starting in India where the market was not even ready, to being celebrated by Silicon Valley and worldwide. I am grateful to have received two National Awards, including one from the President of India and the other Industry Awards, for the work I have delivered so far. National Impact: I have mentioned the impact of my products earlier, here, I wish to mention the impact of my work other than my products. During the Pandemic, I am grateful to have been chosen as the National Chairman to Confederation of India Micro Small Medium Enterprises and International Council for Technology Management and Applied Engineering, a confederation of Industries and Business Owners supported by the Ministry of MSME. As the National Chief, my efforts fueled the economy for the industry along with my board and Ministry of MSME. I am also the Board Advisor to Asian-African Chambers of Commerce and Industry, headed by High Prince Dr. Leye Talpha Babalola. I am honored to have been the Council Advisor to the Board of All India Railway Council, where I am responsible for optimizing technology to increase the safety of women across the nation. Earlier I had joined hands with the Ministry of Women and Child Development, amplifying their messages to the business and society. I am grateful that I could be a part of great initiatives by the Ministry and build my nation.
Innovation: I have been telecommuting since 2010, building the largest community to save millions for my client. Yes, I did it all from my living room. I have been seamlessly connecting Employers to Employees, Sellers to their customer-base, Problems to Solutions in the most appealing fashion. Staying on the top of emerging design of work earned me Thought leadership for Future of Work, worldwide. Grateful to Blue jeans Network and Silicon Republic Magazine for naming me as the top leaders for Future of Work, worldwide. Mastering the lean-model for business and optimizing technology helped us scale Direct-to-customer for our clients. Our strength in employing people with diverse backgrounds, working from different geographies, helped us in engaging the customer-base for our clients. Purpose-driven Leadership: From building a product which didn’t have any revenue model but a huge requirement by the users to creating monetization and a profitable firm out of it taught me valuable lessons. These business insights, I shared with communities of startups and Chambers of commerce to build the industry. I have been repeatedly sharing with companies and startups on identifying a solution to a problem faced by many and then figuring out how to bring in the revenue. I am grateful that my support and direction to the companies have earned them millions in revenue and gained funding for startups. Leadership beyond building your own company. It is about bringing up the industry altogether. I am grateful my thought leadership has been acknowledged worldwide with rankings and Industry Positions.
Advice for women entrepreneurs:
I say this as it guided me on my path, hope this will guide you too. Start up only when you find your 2:00 AM problem. Build only when you find that problem, that can keep you awake at 2:00 AM. That one problem, which will push you beyond every limit and you will happily stretch. It will ask you for every sacrifice that you will proudly make, only to solve the problem! I built my first product from my living room with no investment. My second product started the similar way. I still telecommute and remain bootstrapped. If I can do it, you too will. Find that problem that doesn't allow you to sleep at night and build a solution to it. The world is waiting to celebrate your hard work.
