Nasreen Khan Chanana: When we relocated to Mumbai from Delhi on account of my husband’s transfer, I was trying to figure out some different path in life, away from the usual Public Relations job which I had been doing for many years. It was a welcome break for me and I devoted a lot of time helping my family settle in the city where I was born and raised. Though it was satisfying to be a home maker and a full time mother to two bubbly teenage girls, I felt the need to do something which would help me give back to society in my own small way. I am a Certified Counsellor and Therapist along with being a Relationship Mentor. We all are living in such stressful times and I am glad I am trained to help and reach out to people who are unable to deal with tough life situations. They would prefer brushing it under the carpet rather than addressing the issue and take guidance. There is another misconception that a Coach or a Mental Health Expert is consulted only if there is a problem. The fact is, in the fast paced life style that we all live, it is advisable to take the help of a professional who can be your mentor and guide to keep you focussed on your goal. It is not easy to stay motivated always but it is easy to stay disciplined and a Coach can help you form habits to maintain a disciplined life style. Our main struggle was to create awareness and acceptance in people towards Mental Issues and the Burn-Out phase that young people were experiencing. Initially, we planned many group sessions online and offline where we would introduce the subject of mental health and through various activities make people aware of the benefits and the need of having a trained professional working with them. Through our persistent efforts we have successfully managed to bring about a certain level of mind set shift as we now have clients coming to us from various strata of society such as, teenagers, working professionals, young entrepreneurs, home makers among others. Nasreen Khan Chanana: Through our platform we would like to make Mental Wellness a top priority and provide easy access to all. Though we have global clients, I am passionate about reaching to smaller cities and towns in India and create awareness among the young minds and cater to their needs. Our Personality Development Programs and Career Guidance workshop will provide the much needed support to them in creating a better future.
