  • A 5 Way Daily Planner for Increased Productivity

Jul 11, 2017 Draft a plan: mapping out a plan for the day gives a good kick-start. Planning makes it easier to accommodate different appointments in a timely manner. Planning also releases mental clutter and mind can easily focus. Time management: time management is the art of getting things done. To increase productivity implies getting more and more work done within the same time limit. Managing time included planning meeting, appointments and even breaks. Drafting a neat time table is only the first step, sticking to it as strictly as possible is the difficult thing to do. Prioritize: list down your tasks to be done in the order of your priorities. Take up the most important task during that time of the day when you are most active and energetic. Complete the task which is your top most priority first. Do not delay or procrastinate it raises stress levels. Eat and drink well: often people, who are too busy scheduling their work, forget about nourishment of their body. Taking three meals, especially breakfast is important; along with it taking at least 8 glasses of water is a must. Skipping meals is a complete no-no, while working the body and mind need all the energy they can get, without eating their functioning gets hampered. Wrap in time: all work and no play makes jack a dull boy, we’ve all been hearing this since childhood without realizing how true it really is. Beginning work on a good note is as important as finishing it in time. Wrapping it up at a fixed time and taking some time to relax and have a good night sleep is extremely important.

  • Jobs in Danger: Automation the cause

Jul 10, 2017 The debate about technology being a bane or boon has been going on for years and will continue for years to come. It is a fact that in future technological innovations are going to take away many jobs and will render many people unemployed. But what is still debatable is that will automation take away all our jobs? Of course it will not literally take away ‘all’ our jobs what we are talking about is the majority share. Few job profiles have already witnessed overtake by automation like: bank tellers, cashiers, accountants, scribes, transcribers etc. and some more are beginning to be replaced like delivery men will lose their jobs to delivery drones and assembly line workers in a factory will lose their job to mechanized conveyor belts with robotic arms. The list is endless. However, if one looks at it optimistically, it will reduce the effort of manual labor, and also ensure good quality production while maintaining the large quantity as well. At the same time it will create some new job opportunities, people would be needed to repair automated parts, to produce spare parts, to supervise the working or these parts, people will be needed to assemble robotic parts, program them and the department of research and development will bloom. However flawless it may be, artificial intelligence cannot render the intelligence of its creators, human beings, useless. It is not possible for robots to work as counselors or teachers or nannies or painters or dancers it is not possible to appoint machines in the place of police officers and ministers; however it is possible to delegate some time consuming and tedious yet not very complex tasks to machines. Maybe automation is the key to future, but the human mind and body cannot be replaced entirely by technology. The future may take away many jobs, but it will open up as many opportunities as well. We can envision a society functions on a base of joint efforts of automation and emotion, mortal and machine and natural and artificial.

  • 5 Questions to Lead You to the Right Decision

Jul 9, 2017 There come several occasions in life when one has to take decisions which are detrimental to their present and future. To make sure you are on the right path, here are 5 questions that you can ask yourself to assist you in taking the right decision: 1.Is this what ‘I ‘want? From our childhood we grow up as dependents, waiting for the ‘grown ups’ around us to take our decisions for us. However, there comes a time in life when no one but us can take our decisions. This is the time when we are most likely to be influenced by what the people around us say and do. Make sure whatever decision you take, is truly ‘yours’ and no one else’s, for it is you who has to live with it. 2.Will I regret in 10 years down the line? All our decisions taken today have consequences on our future; the future therefore is the best judge. If you feel like you might even slightly regret a decision a few years later then you have to rethink and choose a path that you can confidently opt for and will not feel guilty about later in life. 3.Am I doing this just because it is expected of me or is this really what I want? Most people spend their lives fulfilling the expectations that others attach to them, they remain occupied with pleasing others all the time and often forget about their own self. Whenever faced with a difficult situation focus on pleasing yourself first and then others. But be cautious about not hurting others interest while pleasing yourself. 4.Have I thought this through? Make sure before acting on anything you have thought about it thoroughly. You must be aware of the consequences of your decision and its future implications on yourself and others. 5.Am I willing to take responsibility for this decision? If you feel confident in taking responsibility for your decision in future come what may, then it is you conscience guiding you on that path, if you are not sure of it then you have some more thinking to do to prepare yourself.

  • Learning from Mistakes is the Key to Success!

Jul 8, 2017 Failure is a part of running a business. No small company wants to go out of business, yet many do. And the younger the company, the greater is the possibility that it will. It is necessary to device a proper plan and move according to it. Some reasons why companies fail to function smoothly and some tips to avoid them: 1.The main motive to start a business is generally not clear and not defined properly. If the business is set up only for the purpose of earning loads of money, or that you wouldn’t have to be answerable to anyone, this reason to establish a business is generally not considered to be appropriate. One needs to have a clear objective of why they want to start a business. 2.Without careful, methodical, strategic planning -- and hard work -- success would not follow. The same could be said of most business successes. It is critical for all businesses to have a business plan. Many small businesses fail because of fundamental shortcomings in their business planning. It must be realistic and based on accurate, current information and educated projections for the future. Hence, a properly framed plan is important to drive the firm ahead. 3.A business, these days must have a website and a social media presence. At the very least, every business should have a professional looking and well-designed website that enables users to easily find out about their business and how to avail themselves of their products and services. 4.Poor management skills can also lead to failures. Dysfunctional leadership in the business trickles down and affects every aspect of your operation, from financial management to employee morale, and once productivity is hindered, failure looms large on the horizon. Learn, study, find a mentor, enroll in training, conduct personal research – do whatever you can to enhance your leadership skills and knowledge of the industry. Examine other business best practices and see which ones you can apply to your business. 5.Having a unique feature that sets the enterprise apart from the others also plays an important role in preventing failures. What sets your business apart from competitors? How do you conduct business in a way that is totally unique? What are your competitors doing better than you are? Develop a customized approach or service package that no one else in your industry is using so you can present it as a strong value proposition that attracts attention and interest. 6.Starting a business without sufficient operating capital can prove to be a not so thought about idea of business. Not only that but many new business owners underestimate the perils of riding the cash flow roller coaster. They generally ignore the maintenance of budget and continue with their activities without giving it a prior thought. 7.A final reason worth mentioning for why companies go out of business is underestimating the competition. Even if you have a sound business model, plenty of funds to operate and the necessary management skills to be successful, you still face one daunting challenge: the competition. Instead of underestimating the competition, one should always try to learn something from them and apply it to their own business to stay at par.
