The company’s product is a packaged, ready-to-eat nutrition bar Ah!rogya Bar made from locally available and traditional ingredients like ragi, jaggery and peanuts without the addition of any artificial flavouring and colouring agents or preservatives. These nutrition bars are a better and healthier snack option and are sold in the commercial market. The product is affordable and widely available, thereby, improving access to necessary nutrition. Each 25gm bar is estimated to contain essential micro and macronutrients and at least 6 gm of protein.


We-Mana addresses the problem of inadequate, insufficient and hard to access nutritional requirements primarily among vulnerable groups of children, women and any other marginalised communities that require nutrition. We-Mana also partners with child and women-centric NGOs to share its profits in the form of bars with their target segment.


Unique Selling Proposition / Competitive Advantage:

Ah!rogya Bars are millet-based, totally natural with no artificial preservatives, colour or flavour. What makes these bars most unique is that they contain no artificial binders, jaggery and dates are the sources of sweetness and the binding agent.

Each 25g bar contains 5.79g of protein, considerable amounts of calcium and iron and other essential micronutrients by virtue of its ingredients. The bars are very economically priced to cater even to the lower-middle-income group.


Challenges Faced During The Journey:

The We-Mana company has come a long way as it initially started as a project in the founders kitchen with Mrs Uma Maheswariher’s daughter as the helper. After three years, it stands as a registered micro enterprise that provides employment to other women by the virtue of its own growth.


Advice For Young Women Entrepreneurs:

Mrs Uma R Maheswari advice all the women entrepreneurs to never give up and conveys to not despise small beginnings. She also encourages the young entrepreneurs to keep dreaming big and think of innovative ideas along the way.
