Great Companies: How did you get your idea or concept for the business?

Rinki Chandawalla: In 1989, with just Rs.500/-, my father (The founder of the company) Mr.Shailesh Kharawala started this business with just one product and later we expanded to multiple products , multiple production units.


Great Companies: What are the various services provided by Kharawala Products

Rinki Chandawalla: We cater to all types of customers who need dryfruits,seeds and berries. We cater to consumers, confectionery brands, Horeca Brands,Supermarkets,Kirana stores, Modern Trade stores , Corporates and Wedding houses for Gifting and any other type of customer.



Great Companies: What makes Kharawala Products from hundreds of other similar service providers?

Rinki Chandawalla:

We are one stop company for all needs. We procure products from the producing centres of the world. We sort, process and pack products as per customer needs in our 2 processing units . So our pricing is extremely competitive and quality control is at its best.

Great Companies: What were the struggles and challenges you faced and how did you overcome them?

Rinki Chandawalla: We are a bootstrapped company. So to expand and compete with the new comers in business with big investor money is tough. But we have overcomed this by minimising working capital ratio, ensuring immediate payments from debtors to avoid blocking of cash flow, taking credit facility from our Bank and using our experience and goodwill to our best of capabilities .


Great Companies: How do you plan to grow in the future? What does 5 years down the line look like for Kharawala Products?

Rinki Chandawalla: In 5years, we plan to expand our sales team to atleast 10employees who would focus on targeting each and every store/company requiring dryfruits PAN India. We also plan to double our production capacity to match the increasing sales by double shifts or 24hrs shifts.


This will enable Kharawala Brand to be well known PAN India by each and every customer /consumer . We anticipate a humble growth of atleast 25% p.a.

Rinki Chandawalla: Build Goodwill for your company, Profits will follow.
