Great Companies: How did you get your idea or concept for the business?

Olivia Das: "Success doesn't happen overnight or in a cubicle. You need to get out into the real world". Most people spend their working lives stuck behind a desk in a dead-end job or lost forever in some middle management abyss. It's frustrating to live and sad to watch, but it is the reality of working life. Achieving success in life is not something one gets by fluke or luck but is something for which a combination of skills, timing, hard work and luck is needed.


A Satyajit Ray Film and Television alumni with a career spanning over a decade, I have worked in Films, Television and the Radio industries. I founded ‘Catch 22 Media’ with the sole purpose of producing documentaries and short films on issues I strongly believe in.

Olivia Das: At Catch 22 Media, we are a creative studio committed to create compelling content in the fiction and non- fiction genre. We have expertise in creating ad- films, short films, music videos and documentaries. We are also working towards launching our podcast channel very soon and look forward to discuss inspiring success stories of people who have paved their own roads of innovation and dreams.


Great Companies: What makes Catch 22 Media different from hundreds of other Production Houses?

Olivia Das:

The current trend demands high level of productivity and focused approach. However, with little time and equally large amount of work load, it does become difficult to manage time and get productive. It therefore becomes imperative that one needs to adopt stringently focused and positive attitude towards the goal.


Great Companies: What are the struggles and challenges you face?

Olivia Das: I wouldn’t term it as a struggle or challenge, but while producing my debut documentary film, our team has particularly tried to upgrade ourselves and keep abreast with the latest technology in the audio- visual medium. With each falter, we tried to meander around a better solution to counter it. It is the need of the hour!


Great Companies: How do you plan to grow in the future? What does 5 years down the line look like for Catch 22 Media?

Olivia Das: India is witnessing a brand new generation of start-ups, making their presence felt not just in the domestic sphere, but also globally. With campaigns like Start-up India, Digital India, Make in India, etc. from the government, start-ups is the buzz in the country.

At Catch 22 Media, we hope to widen our horizon with every step and continue to produce meaningful audio- visual content for our audiences.


Great Companies: If you had one piece of advice to someone just starting out, what would it be?

Olivia Das: “You just need to start. People related to your field of expertise will automatically connect with you and be a part of your ideas and concept. Have courage to fail every day!”

We need to bring life to a concept that attracts not just us but our audience too. Once we succeed in winning their hearts, keeping ourselves committed to their expectations is the real challenge.
