Great Companies: How did you get your idea or concept for the business?
Milin Satish Vaidya: I was working in Dubai as a Showroom Manager in a reputed MNC Jewellery store. I started my job in Dubai in the year 2004. In 10 years of my work profile, I achieved the best customer support award and excelled to the best position in the company. In 2012 Dubai won the bid to host Expo 2020 – Worlds biggest expo. I realized that in the coming years Dubai is going to be one of the best cities in the world for tourism. Same time I decided to quit my job and I moved to Mumbai in 2014 and started DMT Vacations.

Milin Satish Vaidya: DMT Vacations is specialized in Dubai vacation packages where we give one-stop solutions right from Air tickets, Visas, Hotel bookings, Sightseeing, Travel Insurance, and every service that a traveler requires to visit any destination. Apart from Dubai, we do all international destinations like – Europe, Maldives, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Mauritius, Thailand, etc. We also assist with visa processing for all the countries around the globe. We are associated with Luxurious Cruises like Costa, Genting Dream, Cordelia, and MSC. We also do domestic tours in almost every part of India like – Ladakh, Himachal, Kashmir, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Kerala, and North East.

Milin Satish Vaidya: As I have always focused on 100% satisfaction of customers all these years during my job, I have known one thing your personal touch, your accurate guidance regarding the product you are selling, and most important - Transparency of what you are offering and what are the benefits of the product matter the most in any business. I never misguide my customers by overcommitting and I always try to add value to my vacation packages. We create a WhatsApp group while our customer is on tour and keep them posted for every tour on daily basis. Our TAT is a maximum of 5 minutes if a guest messages us for any reason. We never ignore any calls and always keep in touch with our customers. We also take feedback after the tour is over so that we can improve where and when required.

Great Companies: What were the struggles and challenges you faced and how did you overcome them?
Milin Satish Vaidya: The challenge was to settle down in India after working for 10 long years in a city like Dubai. When I came and started DMT Vacations in Mumbai, I was not able to get queries for any travel bookings as I was like a newcomer after a 10 years gap. Travel was a new product for me and I was yet to learn a lot of things. For almost 18 months I made no business. But I had a powerful tool which was my PR and my communication skills. I decided not to give up. I started interacting with my old contacts in India and also contacts in Dubai who knew me. Simultaneously I started gaining knowledge about all destinations because without knowledge you can’t gain excellence. My dedication and never give up attitude started turning positive and gradually I created my own space in this vast industry. Presently we have clients from India, UAE, UK, USA, Africa, Singapore, and Malaysia who trust DMT Vacations and book their travel plans with us. Today DMT Vacations is known for its best service and unmatchable customer relation.
Great Companies: How do you plan to grow in the future? What do 5 years down the line look like for DMT Vacations?
Milin Satish Vaidya: DMT Vacations is expanding and we are planning to step into the B2B sector for Dubai as a product. We have a great PR with many travel partners pan India. Next 5 years DMT Vacations is planning to be one of the most preferred Travel companies. We are planning an office in Dubai soon and target to acquire maximum clientele database to grow around the world.
Great Companies: If you had one piece of advice for someone just starting out, what would it be?
Milin Satish Vaidya: I have worked since I was 12 years old. I have been interacting with people since childhood and I know that your communication skills are the most powerful tool for your progress. I have been practicing the same for years. Even in Dubai, I connected with clients for a lifetime who are still in my phonebook this present day. So my advice to all the new start-ups and young Entrepreneurs is that the very first thing you need to do is gain complete knowledge about the product you are about to sell in the market, and the second thing is to keep an attitude that no one in the world can give better service except you. Keep learning, keep proving yourself and be passionate always in what you do. You might not be the best in the market but always try to keep yourself the best option for your clients.
