Manish Keswani, Co-Founder at PaperTrue Pte Ltd


Great Companies: How did you get your idea or concept for the business?

Manish Keswani: There were 2 incidents which led me to becoming the co-founder of PaperTrue. One was a playful yet thought provoking riddle which my son put me. He asked me if there was anything that I could teach every living being on this planet what would it be. I couldn't come up with a suitable answer. So, I asked him what his reply to that question would be? He said, I'd teach them to communicate. That answer stayed with me. A few days thereafter, Rishi, who was earlier a member of my team in one of my previous businesses, approached me with this idea that would help people communicate better with impeccable written English. This would be especially useful for the research community, it would prove to be a boon for writers aspiring to become published authors, it would be awesome for anyone wanting to communicate better using perfectly written English. It was a no brainer for me to say yes to his idea. That's how PaperTrue was born.

Our customers include some well known names from the Middle East, China as well as from North America. Even though we earn accolades and adulation for the quality of the work we do, we don't mention those names as references to develop more business for ourselves. So, spreading the word about our services organically is a bit of an uphill task. But we're overcoming that as we gain more and more popularity among the academic community and the tribe of writers who we've helped become published authors.


Great Companies: How do you plan to grow in the future? What does 5 years down the line look like for PaperTrue Pte Ltd?

Manish Keswani: We're in the process of deploying AI and ML tools to support our customers as well as to greatly enhance efficiency of our editors. We're also progressing towards success on the dual offering or hybrid offering of automated English language improvers coupled with human sense and sensibilities.


Great Companies: If you had one piece of advice to someone just starting out, what would it be?

Manish Keswani: Entrepreneurship is a very long term commitment. It's meant for those who can be optimistic while being realistic. Also, if you've decided to start, start soon, if possible, now. As it is, all that anyone has is the present moment.
