I started this business 6 yrs ago with my daughter, who had just finished year 12. What a daunting thought. Livewire Electrical was started a whim encouraged by my husband. Over the last 6 years we have steadily grown into a team of 4. which just happens to be an all female team we started our last apprentice which is also my youngest daughter at the beginning of the year. Our work has purely been built on customer service and quality workmanship. We offer a full range of electrical, maintenance and installation services. we are always looking for new opportunities to help grow and develop our Business

What challenges have you overcome to reach where you are now

There has been many challenges through out my time, from the commencement of my apprenticeship at the age of 32 with a young family, low incomes, unemployment, employers bluntly refusing to employ you because your a female and health issues which have definitely seen me having to jump many hurdles. But through sheer determination and support from my family we have built a very reputable all female business in a purely male dominated industry.

What message you want to give for other aspiring women entrepreneurs

The Goals of Livewire Electrical & Design is to grow and be recognised as a professional outstanding Business that offers a wide range of services to our clients. Building a future for my daughters to be great leaders and learn from every opportunity put in front of them. I also want to encourage more women into a non traditional trade as it can be a very rewarding job on many levels. Look for new opportunities that make our business different from the rest. Looking at how we can help improve our environment and future proof the sustainability for generations to come. in how we produce and use electricity.

To what do you attribute your success

Hard work and determination, We are a unique Business that is looking for opportunities to help grow and develop our industry. For this chance as an all female team not just an individual is showing the rest of the industry that everyone is equal and we can all learn and grow together and improve the future of our industry. We would embrace the opportunity and show how dedicated and determined we would be to gain as much knowledge and experience to grow our business and be a role model and leader for future generations
