John Mathew, CEO at Cavli Wireless

Great Companies: How did you get your idea or concept for the business?

John Mathew: At Cavli Wireless, our business idea and concept emerged from recognizing the challenges within the fragmented cellular IoT space. We observed the intricate value chain involving diverse stakeholders and products catering to different stages of the process, leading to complexities in integration and deployment timelines and costs. Motivated by this realization, we set out to develop a solution that simplifies the integration and deployment of cellular IoT devices.

Driven by our dedication to innovation and deep industry understanding, we focused on designing modules that facilitate seamless connectivity and streamlined operations. Our goal was to bridge the gap between hardware and software, offering a comprehensive solution that empowers businesses to navigate the complexities of cellular IoT with ease.

Great Companies: What are the various services provided by Cavli Wireless?

John Mathew: The cellular IoT landscape is characterized by complexity and fragmentation, with a diverse value chain involving multiple stakeholders catering to different stages. Cavli Wireless addresses these challenges by offering a comprehensive Software-Hardware product suite that empowers clients to seamlessly launch, build, and scale future-proof IoT solutions globally.

Our Cavli C-Series Smart Modules are designed with integrated eSIMs and loaded with global LTE connectivity subscriptions. With options for footprint, power consumption, and connectivity technologies such as LTE, LPWAN, 5G & GNSS, our Smart Modules are versatile and ideal for various applications. They are built for durability, require minimal field support, and offer a lower total cost of ownership. Manufacturers can quickly design and launch cellular devices across multiple segments and geographies with ease.

Cavli Hubble, our enterprise-ready IoT connectivity management platform, stands as the industry's most robust solution. It enables devices to connect to the cloud, supporting a wide range of applications across major LPWAN and Broadband IoT network technologies, including 5G, NB IoT, LTE-M, LTE-Cat 1, and Cat 4, as well as legacy networks like 3G and 2G.

Great Companies: What makes Cavli Wireless different from hundreds of other similar service providers?

John Mathew: The Cavli Wireless IoT Tech Stack empowers remote diagnostics of deployed devices, facilitating the rapid scaling of Smart Connected solutions. As a pioneering IoT solution enabler, Cavli Wireless has revolutionized the global IoT market by offering an all-in-one smart IoT solution in the form of the world's first subscription-based pricing model. This unique approach enables the seamless implementation of smart connectivity solutions for customers, eliminating the setup complexities typically associated with competitors.

Notably, Cavli IoT modules with Integrated eSIM feature offer several advantages, including a smaller product footprint, reduced inventory, and simplified operations for customer OEMs. However, the true value lies in the Hubble stack running on Cavli modules. With this combination, customers gain the ability to remotely monitor module performance, adjust payment plans, and access in-depth diagnostics from any location worldwide.

In contrast, let's consider one of our direct competitors, an established traditional enterprise in IoT connectivity hardware. Their business model heavily relies on their hardware module, while our approach positions hardware modules alongside the central control center of our solution suite - Cavli Hubble. Hubble acts as the brain behind enabling scalable IoT solutions for OEMs.

Great Companies: What were the struggles and challenges you faced and how did you overcome them?

John Mathew: The journey to securing our first and second enterprise product market fit was both challenging and rewarding. We had to gain the trust of established industry leaders, convince them of the reliability and the efficacy of our product, and assure them of our capability to deliver as competently as any other established player in the industry. Achieving this was no small feat; it required relentless customer support and an unwavering commitment to quality assurance that demonstrated our dedication to meeting their needs. Parallel to this demanding journey, we had another vital task - to attract and build a team of exceptional individuals. Our goal was to find talent with the right attitude, those willing to learn and contribute effectively to the vision of our company.

Through rigorous recruitment processes and diligent screening, we maintained our standards and uncompromising commitment to this objective. This process demanded considerable time and effort, but we understood that building a strong foundation with the right people was paramount to our success. Both these endeavors—achieving product market fit and attracting the right talent—were arduous yet indispensable components of our journey to becoming a formidable player in our industry.

Great Companies: How do you plan to grow in the future? What does 5 years down the line look like for Cavli Wireless?

John Mathew: In five years, we aim to be a global leader in industrial-grade cellular IoT solutions, serving SMBs and larger enterprises alike. Our focus remains on innovative smart Cellular IoT modules that enhance equipment reliability and streamline application development. Cavli envisions massive investments in expanding manufacturing capabilities, R&D, and strategic partnerships globally. Leveraging India's skilled workforce, to drive innovation and production. Expect a diversified product portfolio and cutting-edge technology, always meeting IoT market demands. Our commitment to quality, reliability, and customer satisfaction is unwavering. Cavli Wireless envisions becoming a globally recognized player, known for high-performance cellular IoT modules and a customer-centric approach. We're excited to contribute to the growth and advancement of the IoT ecosystem.
