Empowering Women Through Fashion and Entrepreneurship
Great Companies: How did you get your idea or concept for the business?
Sangeetha Narayanan: From a very young age, I had the desire to become an entrepreneur. I never liked the idea of working under someone — I always wanted to be my own boss. More importantly, I dreamed of creating employment opportunities for struggling women. That vision laid the foundation for Ekaika Boutique.
Great Companies: What are the various services provided by Ekaika Boutique?
Sangeetha Narayanan: At Ekaika Boutique, we specialize in:
Aari work blouses
Designer blouses
Kurtis and suits stitching
We focus on providing customized, high-quality ethnic fashion that reflects both tradition and modern elegance.
Great Companies: What makes Ekaika Boutique different from hundreds of other similar service providers?
Sangeetha Narayanan: What makes us stand out is our customer-centric approach. We offer:
Pick-up services from the customer’s home via Dunzo or in person
Competitive pricing
Doorstep delivery or courier services
We even cater to clients across India and in countries like Malaysia. Our convenience, quality, and affordability have helped us build a loyal customer base.
Great Companies: What were the struggles and challenges you faced and how did you overcome them?
Sangeetha Narayanan: I faced many struggles — one of the biggest was lack of support from my own family. At one point, I had to shut down my business for an entire year.
But things changed. With renewed encouragement from my family, I restarted Ekaika Boutique. That support gave me newfound confidence to move forward stronger than ever.
Great Companies: How do you plan to grow in the future? What does 5 years down the line look like for Ekaika Boutique?
Sangeetha Narayanan: My dream is to export Aari work blouses internationally, especially to countries where Indian weddings are celebrated. I am actively attending business meetings, networking, and staying ready for the right opportunity. I’m confident that in five years, Ekaika Boutique will have a global footprint.
Great Companies: If you had one piece of advice to someone just starting out, what would it be?
Sangeetha Narayanan: Start with your passion — let that guide your business idea. Begin small, like I did, and then grow gradually. Keep learning by attending seminars and industry events to stay updated. The journey will be tough, but staying true to your vision makes it worth it.
