Dhara Patel, CEO at Outer Realm

Great Companies: How did you get your idea or concept for the business?

Dhara Patel : Imagine this: a family entrenched in business for over 30 years, and there I was, the black sheep seeking something different. Growing up surrounded by my family's construction business, I often encountered poor quality renderings that left much to be desired. Witnessing this gap between what was needed and what was available ignited a passion within me for better quality and accessibility in 3D rendering and VR technology.

I realized that small businesses, like my dad's, could benefit immensely from high-quality visualizations to stand out in the market. That's when the idea struck: to make 3D rendering and VR accessible for businesses of all sizes, empowering them to lead in their respective markets. And thus, the vision for Outer Realm was born - to democratize cutting-edge technology and redefine the standards of visualization in the luxury real estate sector.

Great Companies: What are the various services provided by Outer Realm?

From stunning 2D images and captivating 360 tours to dynamic video fly-throughs and immersive virtual reality tours, we provide everything developers and builders need to showcase their projects with sophistication and realism. Great Companies: What makes Outer Realm different from hundreds of other similar service providers?

Dhara Patel  : Here's the scoop: while others may dabble in 3D rendering and virtual reality, at Outer Realm, we offer more than just services – we offer experiences. With our all-inclusive packages encompassing everything from 2D images to immersive reality tours, we provide a seamless journey for our clients. Our laser focus on luxury real estate ensures we understand the market intricacies like no other, and our commitment to pushing technological boundaries ensures every project is not just remarkable, but truly unforgettable. By enhancing the emotional connection for clients, we facilitate faster buying decisions, setting us apart from the rest.

Great Companies: What were the struggles and challenges you faced and how did you overcome them?

Dhara Patel  :Ah, the struggles! One of our main challenges revolved around helping customers recognize the necessity of our product in accelerating their potential buyers' decision-making process. The reality is, the current generation of buyers is increasingly visual, yet the real estate industry hasn't quite caught up. As a result, our clients were experiencing slower sales due to a lack of visual engagement.

Navigating through the complexities of high-end architectural designs was tough, but bridging the gap between traditional sales methods and modern buyer expectations proved to be our greatest hurdle. However, with unwavering dedication to quality and innovation, we embraced this challenge head-on. We fostered a culture of continuous learning and adaptation, educating our clients on the power of immersive experiences in amplifying emotional connections and expediting sales. Through persistence and creativity, we not only overcame this obstacle but emerged stronger than ever, equipped to reshape the industry's landscape one immersive experience at a time.

Great Companies: How do you plan to grow in the future? What does 5 years down the line look like for Outer Realm?

Dhara Patel  :In five years, Outer Realm will be the undisputed leader in luxury real estate visualization. We envision expanding our reach globally, collaborating with top-tier developers on iconic projects, and pushing the boundaries of what's possible in the realm of 3D rendering and virtual reality. With innovation as our compass and luxury as our backdrop, the future looks nothing short of spectacular.

Great Companies: If you had one piece of advice to someone just starting out, what would it be?

Dhara Patel  :Here's the golden nugget: never lose sight of your niche. In a sea of competition, it's your specialization that sets you apart. So, hone your craft, embrace your uniqueness, and never underestimate the power of passion. Oh, and invest in a good pair of virtual reality goggles... trust me, they'll come in handy! and it never hurts to embrace the chaos, learn from your mistakes, and never underestimate the power of a good laugh... preferably over a cup of coffee.
