Great Companies: Please tell me something about the business and how did you come up with such an idea?
Brig Rakesh Kaul (Retd): I and my friend Maj VP Sharma's relationship goes back 35 years when we were together in the Army. We thought on retirement, we must help ex soldiers in a field they know best, agriculture, as most of them come from villages, and exploit their leadership qualities and years of training which made them self reliant, confident men with leadership qualities.
Great Companies: What are the various services and products provided by your company? Brig Rakesh Kaul (Retd): Direct to home delivery of organic vegetables in Pondicherry and Chennai. Urban Organic gardening, including terrace farming. Leasing Farms and converting them to Organic Farming. Great Companies: Why should one choose you over others in this field? Brig Rakesh Kaul (Retd): We are a company which provides an end to end solution, from producing our own organic vegetables to processing, sorting, grading and delivering the same to the customer within the same day. We deliver quality organic vegetables at non organic prices.
Great Companies: What are the struggles and challenges you face?
Brig Rakesh Kaul (Retd): Normal struggles in agriculture, overcoming the organic versus non-organic debate, making a customer base. We tell our customer that, we do not sell vegetables, we sell good health.
Great Companies: What do you think are the few main things which are most important for a successful business?
Brig Rakesh Kaul (Retd): Honesty, integrity, quality and consistency. Never try to fool a customer. Give the best quality and the customer will become your ambassador for getting you more business
