Great Companies: How did you get your idea or concept for the business?

Biswajit Dutta: Nowadays, all products and services can be found online, but there are numerous platforms available for selling these products. This is beneficial for customers as they can purchase products from different suppliers at various prices on the same platform. Additionally, suppliers can sell their products on a large platform without incurring any marketing costs. 

With this in mind in 2018, I decided to create a platform - TripMyBudget.com and the tagline is "Ghoomo Jee Bhar Ke"" similar to eCommerce where travel packages can be sold in the same manner from different suppliers with different price options. This way, both customers and suppliers can find a solution to their problems. The company was officially registered in 2022. Currently, we are still in the process of developing our model.

Biswajit Dutta: TRIP MY BUDGET ABS PVT. LTD, is a leading travel booking portal, prioritizes its e-commerce model for booking travel packages, placing a significant emphasis on providing a seamless online experience. Our primary focus is on offering a wide range of tour packages, both domestic and international, along with additional services such as corporate bookings and hotel reservations.






Great Companies: What makes TRIP MY BUDGET ABS PVT. LTD different from hundreds of other similar service providers?

Biswajit Dutta: Our company, "TripMyBudget," operates as a unique E-commerce platform for selling travel packages, similar to popular platforms like Flipkart and Amazon. Unlike traditional travel agencies, our platform allows suppliers to directly interact with customers. Our primary goal is to cater to all types of customers, ensuring that their travel dreams are fulfilled within their budget constraints.


Additionally, we aim to support local retail agencies and suppliers who typically have limited customers within their locality. By providing them with a larger customer base through our platform, we enable them to offer more affordable travel packages. This healthy competition among local suppliers ultimately results in cheaper packages with quality service for our customers.



Great Companies: What were the struggles and challenges you faced and how did you overcome them?

Biswajit Dutta: During the initial stages of my startup, I encountered numerous challenges. Firstly, I needed to assemble a competent team to execute my plans. However, since I had no income at the beginning, I couldn't afford to pay any salaries. As a result, I proposed a partnership with zero investment to some acquaintances. Fortunately, two of my friends expressed interest in joining after hearing about my plan. However, the first 5-6 months were extremely difficult as we struggled to generate income without any marketing efforts. Unfortunately, we had no investment options as we came from middle-class families and there were no investors available in our small hometown. Consequently, after 6 months, my two partners resigned and joined another company.


However, after 2 years, my company experienced growth with the support of my brother and wife. Currently, we are able to sell 20-30 packages every month without any investment.


I am immensely grateful to my loyal customers who have placed their trust in me and supported the growth of my company. Many of these customers have referred my company's services to others, which has greatly contributed to our success.

 


Great Companies: How do you plan to grow in the future? What does 5 years down the line look like for TRIP MY BUDGET ABS PVT. LTD ?

Biswajit Dutta: Currently, my main target is on executing my comprehensive plan. Once this is completed, I will utilize social media to initiate meetings with potential investors in order to secure funding and propel my company to the next level. I aspire for my company's services to be accessible globally within the next five years, with offices established in major cities across India and around the world.



Great Companies: If you had one piece of advice to someone just starting out, what would it be?

Biswajit Dutta: New entrepreneurs should have confidence in their abilities, be courageous in facing challenges, and be willing to take risks in order to succeed in their ventures.
