Great Companies: Please tell me something about the business and how did you come up with such an idea?
Avijit Sarkar: I started my career in Entrepreneurship with my company Avifa in 2012. At that period of time, I had just started college and I had to juggle my time between a night shift BPO and my classes. It was turning out to be very difficult, one thing I was looking for was a system to track time and attendance. To manage the employees I was initially using pen and paper. With time it struck me that why not make a simple app to track attendance, location and selfie. A few years later, the BPO sector was plateauing and so was my interest in it. So I pivoted to IT servicing. Avifa runs as an IT service company till date. With time, I realized that I wanted to be a product player, and my core interest was to solve everyday problems with technology. Without looking elsewhere, I took that small app for tracking attendance and created Regular.li. Regular.li now runs as a small attendance tracking solution for SMEs across the globe.
After a few years, while running Regular.li, I made it a practice to call at least 20-30 customers a day. And every day it was so painful for me to go through an excel, copy the numbers to my phone, and call. Thus I made a small app to auto-dial numbers from an excel sheet using an app.
It was an interesting solution, a simple app could auto-dial numbers from an excel, save the result of the call, and allowed me to store notes. A couple of months later I fine-tuned the app and GoDial was born. GoDial is now a fast-growing product across SMEs, Colleges, Individuals, and any sector where phone calls are being made.
This has been my journey so far.

Avijit Sarkar: The simplicity and usability of both the products are the primary differentiator. With both the tools you are started off in under 2 minutes flat. We have developed the UX in such a way that training is not required. It’s a fully automated flow.
Great Companies: What are the struggles and challenges you face?
Avijit Sarkar: Being a bootstrapped company we have to struggle a lot. Other than that, Sales are a major challenge, especially doing it organically and without funds.
Great Companies: What do you think are the few main things which are most important for a successful business?
Avijit Sarkar: Everybody believes an Idea is such a big thing. To be honest, the world is so big that one idea comes to multiple people at the same time. Then you have to build it well and then you need to be at the right time and at the right place to sell it. So to sum it up, I believe that Product-market fit, execution, and ability to sell, are the key things to a successful business.
