A freak accident in July 2015 resulted me (Cornia Ellis Age 41 at the time) in being a Paraplegic.
Returning to the Corporate world (Product Manager for Medical Device company) in February 2017, I quickly realised that I was not coping with the expectations of my career. All the traveling and long hours took a toll on my "new body" and I had to find an alternative way to earn an income.
My inspiration came August 2018 on my way back home to Cape Town, while sitting in an airport business lounge. I thought why not bring this "business lounge concept" into my community? And that is where the idea of @Work coworking office space (Pty Ltd) was born.
I started doing research and was surprised that coworking spaces are not a unique concept as it has been utilised by many both local and international cities for many years. I was also very pleased to find out that at that time there was no such concept in or around Bloubergstrand and I saw it as the perfect opportunity.
October 2020 @Work Coworking Office Space opened their doors in Bloubergstrand.
