Amalendu Hajraa- Founder of Web2UI

Great Companies: Please tell me something about the business and how did you come up with such an idea? Amalendu Hajraa: We came into the User experience business in India while most of the companies are yet to find out the utility of proper user experience and how it can lead your business towards profit via customer retention and increment in conversion. We are still educating people about this.

After leaving the job of Head of UX at Pepperfry, I decided to start a studio of my own which will help other startups to use the power of User Experience and Customer Experience that Pepperfry and other giant startups utilize. So I restarted Web2UI as a focused UX and CX design company. Web2UI was in existence from 2006 till 2011 before as a web and mobile app design and development company. Great Companies: What are the various services and products provided by your company? Amalendu Hajraa: We provide only User Experience (UX) and Customer Experience (CX) designs. We have the Remote UX team model where startups can hire a complete design team with UX researcher, UX designer, Junior and Senior UI designer and can save upto 2 lakh per month on expenditure on UX design. We follow a 7 step UX process.  Great Companies: Why should one choose you over others in this field? Amalendu Hajraa: I am designing experiences for web and mobile for last 12 years, I had designed mobile apps for iPhone 2 and even before that some Symbian based system for Nokia.. so I can say I am in the market for quite a lot of time.. and I have been upgrading myself to the latest UX methods and techniques and designed all kind of products .. e-commerce to forex trading, iOT to AR/VR, simple to most complex app.. and have worked for brands like Walmart, Porsche, NSF, Pepperfry etc. Whom else can you trust if you can't trust me with the design?

Great Companies: What are the struggles and challenges you face?

Amalendu Hajraa: Challenges are two ways. One is getting the right design team members, now many engineering students are becoming designers who are good at design terms and technologies but hardly they have a good aesthetic sense.

The other challenge is getting the right project where clients allow us to follow our design method with enough time. Also, still, people are not spending enough on design as they don't know how important it is.

Great Companies: What do you think are the few main things which are most important for a successful business?

Amalendu Hajraa: Many businesses doesn't care about their team members. They think the designers and engineers are stuff and labours, and they can be hired or fired any time we have to change this mentality and consider them as part of your core team who can also suggest you on projects handling or how the clients should be handled and should be given proper responsibilities. Also, many companies are working for a very cheap cost to win businesses and intern they are just creating bad quality tech products.
