The "crying emoji", or "sad emoji" is a yellow smiling face, with an open mouth wailing and streams of heavy tears flowing from closed eyes. While the meaning behind it is subjective and largely individualized, it most often expresses intense grief or sorrow which is not shared by many other emoticons.
