Becoming a leader

  1. Begin with praise and honest appreciation. Don’t call attention to people’s mistakes directly.

  2. Talk about your mistakes before criticizing others. Don’t give direct orders, ask questions instead.

  3. Let other people save face. Don’t judge a person’s character by their failures.

  4. Praise all improvements, even tiny ones. Don’t spread appreciation and praise thin, always thick.

  5. Give others a reputation to live up to. Don’t forget to use encouragement.

  6. Make faults and mistakes seem easy to correct. Don’t forget to make others happy about the change.
