Great Companies: How did you get your idea or concept for the business?

Tuhin Mukharjee: I-STRATEGIC is a strategic consulting and business coaching organization based in Kolkata. India has almost 6.3 cr MSMEs and the number is growing. Small and medium sector is backbone of any economy and small medium industries are fueling growth of Indian economy. But small and medium industries need structured support in strategic management to make it more competitive. So the idea of setting up I-STRATEGIC came in to picture to support small and medium industries in strategic consulting.



Great Companies: What makes I-STRATEGIC different from hundreds of other similar service providers?

Tuhin Mukharjee:

I-STRATEGIC provides high quality strategic consulting and business coaching to its clients. We focus in developing mindset and extra ordinary capability. We feel that business owners need to have a growth mindset and strategic capability to make his/her organization world class. So we provide both and equip business owners to combat any situation.

Our approach is based on India centric management philosophies which very different and unique from others. We focus on building an organization with difference that can have its own identity. Our approach is totally based on India based management principals. Many concepts are drawn from ancient scriptures and put in to practice in today’s dynamic business world. So we can proudly say “WE ARE DIFFERENT”.



Great Companies: What are the struggles and challenges you face?

Tuhin Mukharjee: We faced many challenges in our journey and overcame successfully. Our philosophies are very different from others and based on India centric philosophies and holistic development. This method was not very popular earlier and many people wanted us to focus on only business problems. But we focus on developing growth mindset and extra ordinary capability to make organizations sustainable.


Business owners also need motivation and business needs to be spiritually down to earth as well. We focus not only making profits but also helping society and planet. our philosophy is based on four pillars – “SOCIAL IMPACT- ECONOMIC IMPACT- PLANET-PEOPLE”. These are some challenges we faced. But I-STRTEGIC became an organization of choice and we are proud being part of the organization.


Great Companies: How do you plan to grow in the future? What does 5 years down the line look like for I-STRATEGIC?

Tuhin Mukharjee: Future plans: we are into management education, business coaching and strategic consulting. We consider that scientific management education is absolutely mandatory for every business owners and the employees of their organization. We are planning to start new programs to support employees of small and medium industries. We are planning to start learning and development programs for the employees of small and medium industries.


We are also in process of making strategic alliance with foreign management institutions and universities to impart training and certification. Soon we will have tie ups and will move in this direction. Small and medium business also can be benefitted with world class research and training.


We are also planning to expand our operation to other Asian countries within next few years and eventually make I-STRATEGIC an global strategic management consulting organization.


Great Companies: If you had one piece of advice to someone just starting out, what would it be?

Tuhin Mukharjee: My advice would be to start at any capacity. Do not look to be perfect and create big thing initially. Everything will come with time. But we must not procrastinate and delay our journey. Always we have resource constraints and many other problems. But we need to take baby steps and it will have a compounding effects. Do not go for massive action , rather take small steps consistently to grow. Business can be grown and it’s a journey – we need to remember. So start your journey and enjoy.
