Great Companies: How did you get your idea or concept for the business?
Shobana Nataraj: My father was doing this business in a limited way. I took over the business after his sudden demise during 2016. With my passion and desires, I have grown this slowly and steadily to the level from debts in lakhs to a debt free company with crores of turnover .
Great Companies: What are the various Services provided by Baba Transports
Shobana Nataraj: We are majorly into FTL ie Full Truck Loads across pan India. Apart from that, we also deal with ODC and Special goods transportation.
Great Companies: What makes Baba Transports different from hundreds of other similar service providers?
We provide road service to challenging geographic areas in India with timely delivery and Safety. More than transporting goods, we do logistics consultation for our customers to avail more benefit for their needs in efficient goods movement. We also support for complete operation cycle from A to B destinations within targeted time span.
Great Companies: What are the struggles and challenges you face?
Shobana Nataraj: Winning in, on-road goods transportation business is a complex task. Moreover, this will not be an easy cup of choice for any business seekers especially for women’s. It is highly challenging to deal with various stakeholders like Customer, Suppliers, Fleet operators & Drivers on a daily basis in this patriarchy transportation industry. However, with the blood of the transportation business, I am more courageous enough to take over the business in 2016 as our operations head and running it successfully.
Great Companies: How do you plan to grow in the future? What does 5 years down the line look like for Baba Transports?
Shobana Nataraj: Our vision is to to become a benchmarking company in the business and be known for pioneering solutions in logistics across India. We are also working to become a prominent player in e-commerce logistics.
Great Companies: If you had one piece of advice to someone just starting out, what would it be?
Shobana Nataraj: Believe in yourself. “Where there is a WILL, there is always a WAY” likewise, all you need is to be self-resilient to attain your goals.
