Roland Taylor- MD of Statewide Conveyancing

Great Companies: Please tell me something about the business and how did you come up with such an idea? Roland Taylor: In 1997 there was a lot of talk about allowing non legal firms do residential conveyancing. So we thought we would start up a business which appeared to be very different to a law firm and could compete with non law firms if they changed the law on doing residential conveyancing. Great Companies: What are the various services and products provided by your company? Roland Taylor: We look after people buying and selling real estate. We have also branched into Family law and low level commercial work. Great Companies: Why should one choose you over others in this field? Roland Taylor: We specialise so have greater knowledge and skills than your average law firm. We are relatively small allowing us to be very competitive on our pricing.

Great Companies: What are the struggles and challenges you face?

Roland Taylor: Some of our competitors have lower quality services and lower price. So it is a challenge to educate referrers and clients as to why they should use us.

Great Companies: What do you think are the few main things which are most important for a successful business?

Roland Taylor: Having well trained staff who enjoy working for you.
