Reena Sharma, Founder & Director of woman's health at FitMi Health and Wellness Private Limited

Great Companies: How did you get your idea or concept for the business?

Reena Sharma: I got the idea from my own experience of not finding desired yoga and wellness services or ayurvedic experts for women where I stay. There are a lot of gyms but not many good wellness centers, especially for women.

Great Companies: What are the various services provided by FitMi Health and Wellness Private Limited?

Reena Sharma: We have positioned ourselves as one stop destination for all yoga and wellness needs of our members, both in-person and online. Starting from yoga classes, mediation classes, and ayurvedic medicines and treatment with focus on women. We also have a special segment for school going children called FitMi Junior where we partner with schools to provide physical wellness classes for school children. For the corporate world, we have FitMi@Work to provide amazing customized wellness packages to the companies. Our wellness retreats are for those who want to go away from the hustle and bustle of city life and do yoga and meditation in the lap of nature.

Great Companies: What makes FitMi Health and Wellness Private Limited different from hundreds of other similar service providers?

Reena Sharma: As I mentioned earlier, as far as I know we are the only platform that provides all the yoga and wellness services, for all ages and for all budgets, under one roof. I would also like to highlight here that we are particularly focused on tier 2 and tier 3 cities and small towns that are not targeted by most currently active players in this segment so far.

Great Companies: What were the struggles and challenges you faced and how did you overcome them?

Reena Sharma: Well, any new idea is initially met with ifs and buts by people around us. In this case also, I had to put my point across strongly to convince my family and friends. Once they understood, they helped me a lot.

Great Companies: How do you plan to grow in the future? What does 5 years down the line look like for FitMi Health and Wellness Private Limited?

Reena Sharma: We have started with Haridwar and Rishikesh in Uttarakhand and plan to expand to other cities of the state pretty soon. We will implement the same model in other states in the future as it starts growing. In my 5 years, I hope to see FitMi expand to international markets as well, especially in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Hong Kong.

Great Companies: If you had one piece of advice to someone just starting out, what would it be?

Reena Sharma: If you believe in our idea, go for it. Be realistic and focus on customer happiness. rest everything will follow.
