Great Companies: How did you get your idea or concept for the business?

Punit Periwal: PERIWAL PLY N VENEERS is our Family Business. My Grandfather was manufacturing Plywoods, Blockboards and Veneers in Assam. Then My father came to Ahmedabad, Gujarat in search of Machinery but stayed back to do Wholesale of Plywoods and Allied Products. Then I came into business after completing my MBA in Marketing. Felt the urge to take it ahead and soon we started doing Retail Supply along with Wholesale Supply. Along with Plywoods and Blockboards, soon we increased our Product Line to Cater Architects, Interiors, Turn-Key Contractors, Everyone who wanted to get Furniture made at their property.

Punit Periwal: We are into Wholesale and Retail Supply of Plywoods, Blockboards, Laminates, Decorative Veneers, MDF, FLoor Guard, Teak Wood, Pine Wood, SoftBoard, Flexible Plywood and we have also started trading in all types of Decorative Products such as Glass Acrylic Sheets, Louvers, Charcoal Sheets, ACP sheets that are used in making Furniture and Interior Decoration.



Great Companies: What makes Periwal Ply N Veneers from hundreds of other similar service providers?

Punit Periwal:

Plywoods and the other Wooden Materials have different types of Qualities which usually creates confusion for a buyer. At Periwal Ply N Veneers, When a Client Walks in, we don't just plan on selling the Materials. We understand their needs first and Educate our Clients about the Qualities and Rates of our various Products. Thus, along with our Transparency and Understanding the Client's need, our Honesty, Quality Products, Prompt Service and Fast Delivery, makes us stand out against our competitors and other similar service providers. Since our business line is based on word of mouth publicity as well, our services have become our USP.

Great Companies: What were the struggles and challenges you faced and how did you overcome them?

Punit Periwal: Different types of Struggles were there. Some were Labour related which were resolved by hiring and training better staff. Some were related to the buyer's confusion in understanding the Qualities, result of which other suppliers used to confuse the buyers. As we understood the problem, we started to understand their needs, guide & educate our clients, whether they are Architects, Interiors, Turnkey Contractors or even the End Consumers.


Great Companies: How do you plan to grow in the future? What does 5 years down the line look like for Periwal Ply N Veneers?

Punit Periwal: We would like to grow more and more by catering more and more customers in the future. Keep satisfying our Clients and grow with Word of Mouth Publicity as well. Make an even bigger depot to stock more Wooden Products and keep on increasing our Product line.


Great Companies: If you had one piece of advice to someone just starting out, what would it be?

Punit Periwal:

1) Always have Patience towards understanding clients' needs.

2) Customer Experience is the most important aspect.

3) Follow-up is the Key to Success.
