Kirti Mutreja, Founder at Virtuoso Learning Solutions

Great Companies: How did you get your idea or concept for the business?

Kirti Mutreja: The inception of Virtuoso was more of an emotional decision turned into a practical solution. During my early days of career where I had to give up on my academia in medicine to pursue a job due to some personal challenges, I faced 25 rejections. The feedback being that I could speak well but didn’t have the confidence to work. I worked on myself and then after 30 days of rigorous practice finally climbed the first ladder to my success, got my first job with the same firm that rejected me previously. This inculcated the belief that you can influence the outcome by working towards it. Training indeed works! That’s where I promised myself that I will build a career by nurturing young minds and shaping them into the ardent professionals of tomorrow. I will let people learn from my failures and not just from my success alone. My vision is to make people see their success through my eyes.

Great Companies: What are the various Services provided by Virtuoso Learning Solutions?

Kirti Mutreja: We are a learning organization with behavioural training interventions being our forte. Virtuoso Learning Solutions looks forward to be the catalyst of change—for our

partners, our populace, and the society consequently.

We join hands with clients from the private, public, and not-for-profit sectors in all

regions to identify their Highest-value opportunities, address their most critical

challenges, and transform their enterprises by becoming the one stop solution for all

their training needs. This ensures that our clients accomplish sustainable competitive

advantage by building adept committed workforce and secure enduring outputs. We’ve also started extending our services to various colleges and schools so that we instil the right behaviour and strengthen the roots

Great Companies: What makes Virtuoso Learning Solutions different from hundreds of other Learning & Development Firms?

Kirti Mutreja:

Our research based content, learning agility, and our passion for transforming lives is what makes Virtuoso different. We focus on the how part of the training rather than the what of it. So we work with various concepts & theories and churn them in applicable workable models/techniques where participants can directly apply the learning to better their lives and consequently contribute to the growth of their organization. We begin before we begin and end after it ends.

Great Companies: What are the struggles and challenges you face?

Kirti Mutreja: It’s been a journey. You grow with every new challenge that you face. Every person has his/her hits and misses. Am sure we are no exception. After my last stint at JPMorgan and working as a freelancer for about 4 years, it became challenging to acquire the first client ethically as a company. We took almost 6 months to convince someone to have faith in our abilities. One of the challenges was branding ourselves as an organization rather than an entity. There were a lot of times when I had to give up on the temptation of working in collaboration with other training companies to earn my bread and butter and believe in my newly laid turf.

Great Companies: How do you plan to grow in the future? What does 5 years down the line look like for Virtuoso Learning Solutions?

Kirti Mutreja: We currently have our presence Pan India and middle - east to some extent. We would like to test the international waters too. One of the goals is to venture into the arena of employability skills as well where we can create employment opportunities at the bottom of the pyramid too. We plan to work on the train & get hired model.

Great Companies: If you had one piece of advice to someone just starting out, what would it be?

Kirti Mutreja: To be successful and reach new realms develop the ability to discipline yourself to delay gratification. Learn to embrace the pain of today for the pleasure of tomorrow. We all fall, we all will face setbacks at some point in time. The bet is how soon you get up, gather yourself and move on from being a sore warrior to a soaring eagle.
