Great Companies: Please tell me something about the business and how did you come up with such an idea?
BenEick: After many years as a mortgage broker, I felt that there was a better way of doing things and with a number of highly skilled other brokers across Australia we came together to join Nectar Mortgages. With the Nectar systems and procedures we can service our clients better and offer them deals from a large panel of lenders to ensure they get the right one for their circumstance.
Proudly previously holding records as a world champion broker for many consecutive years with our previous company we have continued our success and consistently land our team in the Top 3 with Nectar Mortgages. Since joining with Nectar, in such a short time we expanded our team and have a shopfront in a prime spot in Newcastle CBD. Within 2 years to not only take advantage of location opportunity but to continue our growth as a team.
We have won the Business of the year from our aggregator PLAN Australia in our first year as Nectar Home Loans Hunter in 2018 primarily based on the fact that we developed and implemented a cloud-based system in real time from anywhere across Australia (this was kind of new and funky back then in the day) – so not only were we one step ahead of the game, we were able to hand pick our skilled and experienced assessors who were now able to work remotely from home wherever they may be across Australia

BenEick: Nectar Home Loans | Hunter specialises in all types of home loans, whether you’re a first home buyer, downsizer, investor, debt consolidate or looking to refinance to a better rate we are here to help. We also have a finance division that can assist with Commercial & Personal Vehicle Finance, Plant & Equipment Finance and personal loans.

Great Companies: What are the struggles and challenges you face?
BenEick: Every day is a challenge. That's what makes our service so valuable to many clients. When most banks or brokers think 'too hard basket' and say NO, we do everything we can to find a way that we can assist our client. Obviously other factors we cannot help such as economic influences come into play and add to the challenges also, such as COVID-19, however due to our systems and processes we were able to work from home at the drop of the hat. This has allowed us to grow as we were easily able to adapt and jumped on the front foot to help our clients during these trying times.
